H. E. “Gene” Rainbolt, Honorary Chair FOR THE HELPERS GOD’S WHO’S WHO by Eddie D. Wilcoxen, Poet Laureate Presented originally at the 2011 ONE Awards

I have lived a life of richness, though gold has passed me by, and when, on occasion, silver weighed my pocket, it held no power, though surely it did try.

The root of all evil is not money, but the love of the same. Money is merely a tool that lets you play the game.

I learned early, at my father’s knee, that service is the greatest good. He told me that true happiness lay in helping others and doing what I could.

I have been lucky, blessings fall around me. They rain down easy and free, like leaves from an autumn tree,

and my heart is gladdened that I can still care. My soul enriched each time I share!

In giving comes your greatest gift - a reason for your life, reward sure and swift.

So, thank you for knowing that you have been lucky too - and thank you for sharing, and congratulations on your placement among “God’s Who’s Who.”
