COMMONS SELECT COMMITTEES TREASURY COMMITTEE April 2020 COMMITTEE PRIORITIES The Chair, Mel Stride, was re-elected unopposed following the 2019 General Election having set out his priorities at the time for the committee which included: the representation of women in finance, business tax reliefs, regional imbalances in the economy and Brexit. Mr Stride did not highlight areas of more direct relevance to the funds industry. However, we expect the committee to concentrate on COVID-19 issues and our future trade agreements with the EU and United States. Committee members might also pursue subjects of greater relevance to industry, or revisit unfinished inquiries from the last parliament, such as green finance.
