Aftermarket equipment installers must be mindful of applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. This information can be obtained directly from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. • These vehicles are equipped with an air bag system. The air bag system in your police vehicle includes side curtain air bags. Customer installed equipment such as security barriers behind the front seats should not be mounted so that the barrier ends are within the side air bag deployment zones. The sensors and other components for the air bag system must not be relocated to accommodate the installation of customer furnished equipment; please refer to the service manual for sensor and other component locations. For information concerning instrument panel top pad mounted equipment and air bag system deployment zones, see the air bag information section in this catalog. • This catalog is not updated during the model year and should not be used for ordering purposes. If the key ring is carrying added weight and the vehicle goes off road or experiences some other jarring event, it may unintentionally move the key away from the run position. If this occurs, engine power, power steering and power braking may be affected, increasing the risk of a crash. SAFETY RISK: The timing of the key movement out of the "run" position, relative to the activation of the sensing algorithm of the crash event, may result in the airbags not deploying, increasing the potential for occupant injury in certain kinds of crashes. Until the recall has been performed, it is very important that customers remove all items from their key ring, leaving only the vehicle key. The key fob (if applicable), should also be removed from the key ring. REMEDY: Dealers are to install two key rings and an insert in the key slot or a cover over the key head on all ignition keys, free of charge. It’s a lot of work making sure that each rented space has a tile that can be read from the cab of a pick-up truck, and then to organize them in the correct bin and slot so that we set them out, they are in order and ready to go. We remarked old ones, remade worn out ones, and for this year, we made a bunch of brand new ones in Zone Zero. What a mission. So, to all, we appreciate you working to complete the tiles for the Set Up Day April 25th. We got done in record time including the new zone zero tiles. And one more special thing, the NTXCLC really appreciated the North Texas Regional Group Horseless Carriage Club of America, and the Lone Star Model T Ford club for pitching in to help us complete the work day. They were very helpful, and brought a smile to the effort.
