SARFARAZ ANSARI & VIVEKA NAND RAY PRE FEASIBILITY REPORT 2.22.22.2 Brief Information about the Project Amba Stone Deposit, over an area of 3.05 Acres (1.23 Ha) is situated in Khata No. 28, Plot No. 19 (P) in Village Amba, Thana Palojori, District Deoghar, Jharkhand. The project has been proposed for mining of 43740 TPA / 146 TPD of Stone by opencast Semi mechanised method. The mine lease area is 3.05 Acres (1.23 Ha). The expected life of the mine is 10.5 years. Total water requirement is about 3.50 KLD (0.5KLD Domestic Uses) + 1.50 KLD (Dust Suppression) & 1.50 KLD (Green Belt) from nearby water sources.

2.3 Need for the Project and Its Importance to the CountryCountry or Region Achieving a huge infrastructure as being envisaged by Government of India particularly in road and housing sector requires basic building materials. The stone is one of primary building material required for the purpose. The stone mining activities as proposed are the backbone of all construction and infrastructure projects as the raw material for construction is available only from such mining. The stone extracted is in high demand at the local market for road construction and real estate industry.

2.42.42.4 DemandsDemands- ---SupplySupply Gap The demand for stone is ever growing with the growth of the infrastructure sector in our country. The mineral is used in the construction activities like roads, buildings, bridges etc. The requirement for the mineral is always high in the nearby cities and towns. Therefore there is always a good demand of the mineral in the domestic market. 2.5 Imports vs. Indigenous Production Development needs will be met only through indigenous produced stone material against the high cost of imported material.

2.6 Export Possibility There is no proposal to export the Stone as there is huge gap in demand and production.

2.7 Domestic/ Export Markets

SARFARAZ ANSARI & VIVEKA NAND RAY PRE FEASIBILITY REPORT Domestic Market The finished product of stone chips will be used as raw materials for all construction work. Export Market The proposed mining activity is for indigenous consumption only for real estate, road making etc. 2.8 Employment Generation The proposed mining activity will provide direct employment to about 14 workers. The workers will be hired mostly from the nearby villages.

3. PROJECT DESCRIPTION 3.13.13.1 Type of Project Including Interlinked and InterdepeInterdependentndent Projects, If Any. The mine is over an area of 3.05 Acres (1.23 Ha). Regional Geology: The rock type exposed in the region consist of a series of a meta sediment like mica schist, quartz schist, quartzite, garnetiferous mica gneiss, feldspathic mica gneiss intruded by granite plutons, amphibolites, dolerites, pegmatite’s and quartz veins. Large-scale migmatisation and feldspathisation is responsible for conversion of mica schist to mica- gneiss. The generalized geological succession of these rock types occurring in area is as follows: Statigraphic Succession The tentative regional stratigraphic sequence of the Jharkhand Mica Belt is as follows: Quaternary & Recent …………. 3.8.1 Method of Mining The whole area is highly potential area. The work will be started from the North portion of the area with an appropriate haul road and further extend in all direction. The mound is gently rising. The benching system 3mX3m will be practiced in the area in order to comply with the provisions of Metalliferous Mines Regulations, 1961. Since the deposit in this area is massive in nature, it is proposed to carry out only opencast semi-mechanized mining during this plan period, i.e. five years. The operations like drilling of shot holes, sorting of stone and breaking of large sized boulders will be excavated using hydraulic rock breakers and excavators with deploying of Jack hammer drilling (50.8 mm dia) will be practice in this area, having burden and spacing of 2m x 2.5m in stagger grid pattern. To avoid fly rock problem at the edge of the hill, light charged muffle blasting shall be under taken. OB dumping is done in the North Western portion of the lease area from 1st to 5th year of plan period which was then used for the backfilling of the mined area (0.35 Ha). Mining operation is proposed to be semi mechanized in general shifting only. 14 unskilled & semi-skilled workers will be deployed. The following mininminingg parameters are proposed Type of working : Opencast, Semi mechanised Bench height : 3 m Bench width : 3 m Overall pit slope : 45 o maximum from vertical

High temperature and high rainfall have led to the formation of lateritic type of soils from rocks of Archean metamorphic complex exposed in the greater part of the district. Texturally the soils of the district have been classified into four classes- ‹ Stony and gravelly soils: - These are low grade soils having a large admixture of cobbles, pebbles and gravels generally found at the base of the hills. ‹ Red and yellow soils: - This soil is formed by the decomposition of crystalline metamorphic rocks like granite- gneiss etc. These rocks contain mineral particles like biotite, hornblende and iron. ‹ Lateritic soils: - This type of soil has dark red or brown color. It has high iron content and has been formed by the process of lateralization of the weathered material in the favorable climate and topography. ‹ Alluvial soils: - River channels in the district are covered with alluvial soils consisting mainly of coarse sand and gravel mixed with silt and clay.
