Port Alfred and Kenton-on-Sea through to finals of DSTV’s Kwêla Dorp van die Jaar Competition!

Both Port Alfred and Kenton-on-Sea have made it through to the finals in the competition. Be sure to tune in to DSTV Channel 144 on Sunday 3 March at 1800. Get those fingers moving an vote for your favourite town to win. All you have to do is to SMS the name of the town to 33157. Voting lines open at 7pm on Sunday 3rd March and close on Friday 8th March at midday. SMS’s cost 1,50 per vote and anyone can vote up to 30 times!!! The 115th Pineapple Cricket Tour- nament is on from 2—9 March.

Check out the fixtures list (right) and catch all the action. Games are played at Port Alfred Country Club, Port Alfred High School, Port Alfred Hospital Grounds, Hilpert Cricket Field, Station Hill, 43 Air- School Cricket Field, and Bushmans Cricket Field.

The Royal St Andrews Hotel Amanzi Challenge, presented by BS Sports is the largest and most exciting annual na- tional and international beach, river and sea water sports event in South Africa. If you are not doing anything over the week of Easter and you or your children love water sports such as surfing, body boarding, volley ball, inflatable power boat racing and more, visit beautiful Port Alfred, where it will all be happening in April 2019. This annual 10-day event of national and international sports will get your adrenaline pumping with show- stopping action from surfing and body-boarding to beach handball, inflatable boat races and much more. The event kicks off with an 8km trail run through beautiful scenery and pathway along the beautiful Sunshine Coast beaches, followed by the Marina Mile swim in the Kowie River. Nemato Change a Life, with rowers, gymnasts, handball players and more will be there to entertain the kids and adults, as well an ‘anything that floats’ contest that every- one can enter. Royal St Andrews Hotel Amanzi Challenge will take place from April 19 to 28 on Port Alfred’s West and East Beach- es. Events are internationally accredited so local competitors can therefore earn international points without leaving South Africa. The event will be covered by TV and radio stations and Talk of the Town, as media sponsor, who will keep readers informed of individual events as they are reported.
