A key change moving forward is the introduction of a $2.00 charge per ticket. The $2.00 will be a donation to the Bill Bullard Charity Foundation which supports the outstanding work of organisations such as the Executive Asbestos Diseases Research Institute. Those attending the concerts will be required to check in via the QR code to ensure the NSW Government have a complete and accurate record of all persons entering the Club premises.

We look forward to feedback following our first 2021 Seniors' Concert.

ASBESTOS DISEASES RESEARCH INSTITUTE The Revesby Workers’ Club is committed to supporting the Asbestos Diseases Research Institute (ADRI). This is key research which, if successful, will alleviate the suffering of many Club members and members of our local community that are affected by this wretched disease. It also has implications around the World, where asbestos is still being utilised with no regard, particularly in third world countries.

While asbestos continues to be a cause of concern for public health, the Revesby Workers’ Club will continue to support ADRI who will continue to pursue a prevention of this life threatening disease.

This year we are happy to announce that we will once again provide funding to ADRI by way of a $45,000 donation. At the time of writing this report we were due to attend a Reception for ADRI at Government House in the coming weeks. The event was to be hosted by Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC QC, however, it was cancelled due to the Greater Sydney Lockdown. We hope to be able to share photos of this event once it is re-scheduled.

RECOGNITION OF MEMBERS WHO TURN 100 We were recently contacted by a Member who advised that their mother was turning 100 this year. As a long-standing member herself, we thought it would be a lovely idea for Club Management and the Board of Directors to recognise such a key milestone.

The Board of Directors discussed this at a recent Board meeting and agreed that we would introduce a Revesby Workers’ Club badge and certificate together with a bottle of champagne in recognition of those members who turn 100.

In reviewing our membership system, a number of the members celebrating their 100th birthday in the near future have been members almost since the inception of the ‘Big’ Club. We believe this is just a small way for the Club to express its gratitude to members for their loyalty and membership.

100 Years of Age badge

If you or a family member will be celebrating the milestone of turning 100 in the near future, we encourage you to contact the Club and confirm your details so that we can recognise your 100th birthday. While we may not be able to compete with a letter from the queen, we are very happy to be able to pay honour to such a milestone for our members.

All enquiries and requests should be emailed through to the Club’s Executive Assistant, Tenielle Symington at [email protected].

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING Together with this Journal, all members will have received the 2021 Notice of Annual General Meeting scheduled for Sunday, 31 October 2021 at 10am.

The meeting will be held in the Waratah and Acacia Function Rooms.

All financial members are welcome to attend.

If you are unable to attend and wish to pass on apologies, please do so by emailing the Club at [email protected] or in writing to the Board of Directors. Written apologies can be left with our Reception staff or simply posted to the Club.
