Tourists from All South Coast Come to to See the Coins of Alexander the Great

"Treasures and artifacts in the exhibition "Burgas Bay - Crossroad of Ancient Civilizations and Cultures" are unique for and for the world and embodying the cultural diversity of the Burgas region". With these words Yordanka Ananieva, the vice mayor of culture in , opened the archaeological exposure in culture center "Sea Casino".

The valuable exhibits will be exposed until the 30th of August at "Alexander Georgiev - Kodzhakafaliyata" hall. This year the exhibition is with free entry. There is a great interest of Bulgarian and foreign tourists from the entire south coast. The most impatient people saw the treasures on the official opening of the exhibition.

In its first appearance before the citizens and guests of the city will be shown gold coins from the era of Alexander the Macedonian and his father, Philip II, coins from Byzantine emperors Constantine IV Pogonat, Justinian II and Nikephoros III Botaniates, head and wrist of a sculpture of Roman emperor Septimius Severus.

The exhibition includes some more ancient artifacts, dated from 5200-3800 BC and the greatest treasure of payment instruments ever found in the world - arrows and money.

The event is organized by Burgas Municipality in cooperation with Regional History Museum and the museums in Karnobat, and .
