XXXIII International Carnival Week 2007

PROVISIONAL NOTICE OF RACE

The XXXIII International Carnival Sailing Week 2007 for boats of the classes , L’Equipe, , 420, , , , Laser 4.7, , 470, , 16, , , Bénéteau will be held in the Vilamoura, from 17th to 19th February 2007.

The Organising Authority will be the CIMAV – Clube Internacional da Marina de Vilamoura.

1. RULES 1.1. The regatta will be governed by: (a) The rules as defined in the ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing. 1.2. The prescriptions of the NA that apply will be posted on the official Notice Board. 2. ELIGIBILITY 2.1. Competitors must comply with the ISAF Regulation 19, Eligibility Code. 2.2. Competitors with Portuguese nationality or with legal residence in shall also comply with the eligibility prescriptions of the Federação Portuguesa de Vela. 3. ADVERTISING 3.1. Participants may display Category C advertising in accordance with ISAF Regulation 20. 3.2. In accordance with ISAF Regulation 20, boats shall display at all times a sticker with the event sponsor advertising provided by the Organising Authority. 4. CLASSES TO COMPETE Optimist, L’Equipe, Vaurien, 420, Snipe, Laser, Laser Radial, Laser 4.7, Europe, 470, 49er, Hobie Cat 16, Dart, Finn, Bénéteau Platu 25 4.1. The Organising Authority can accept entries from other classes. 5. ENTRIES 5.1. The Entry Form must be sent to CIMAV – Clube Internacional da Marina de Vilamoura, Centro Nautico – Marina de Vilamoura – 8125 Quarteira before 18 hours on 7th February 2007. 5.2. ENTRY FEES 6.1. The Organising Authority reserves the right to accept entries after the established deadline. These entries may have to pay more a tax of 20 €. 7. COMPETITORS REGISTRATION 7.1. Each competitor must sign personally the Registration Form at the Race Office between 6 pm and 11pm of 16th February 2007 and between 9am and 11am of 17th February 2007 7.2. Registration is subject to the presentation of the following documents: (a) Valid measurement certificate under the name of the owner. (b) Sailor Federation licences (Portuguese sailors only). 7.3. Documents and sailing instructions can be collected between 6 pm and 11pm of 16th February 2007 and between 9am and 11am of 17th February 2007 8. SCHEDULE AND COMPETITION FORMAT 8.1. 8.2. A minimum of 1 races must be completed to validate the event. 9. SCORING 9.1. If more than four races are scored for the qualifying rounds each boat shall have a discard. 10. INTERNATIONAL JURY An International Jury will be proposed by the Organising Authority and appointed by the Federação Portuguesa de Vela. The decisions of the International Jury shall be final in accordance with Appendix N and RRS 70.4. 11. PRIZES The prizes for this event are described at the Sailing Instructions. 12. OFFICIAL LANGUAGE The official language of the regatta will be English. In case of discrepancy, the original text of the RRS and the Class Rules will prevail. For this Notice of Race, the Sailing

LIABILITY All those participating in this regatta do so under their own risk and responsibility. The Organising Authority or any person or body involved in the organisation of the event rejects any responsibility whatsoever for any losses, damages, injuries or inconveniences that may occur to persons or things, both ashore and afloat, as a consequence of the participation in the races covered by this notice of race. Attention is drawn to Fundamental Rule 4, Decision to Race, RRS Part 1 which establishes: "The responsibility for a boat’s decision to participate in a race or to continue racing is hers alone”. 14.
