Spring 2011 www.fsbgc.org Page 3 FORT SMITH Mayor Ray Baker Passing BOYS & GIRLS CLUB Mourned by Boys & Girls Club Fort Smith icon Ray Baker, mayor of Fort Smith from 1991 – 2010, 2011 died March 4 at the age of 70. He Summer Program was a teacher at Southside High School for 44 years. Baker was a June 6th through July 29th long time member of the FSBGC Registration Begins Alumni & Friends Association. Winners were honored at a ceremony held April 7 at the Evans Boys & Girls Club. Recipients who finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd received cash prizes in the two age divisions. All of the top finalists received certificates and booklet compilations that include all of the top entries. Foster has sponsored Literary Arts programs (poetry and essay) at the Fort Smith Boys & Girls Club for the past 15 years.
