The second year of the new initiative brought not only more teams and players, but a talent pool to push the women’s game into the future. Stars from as young as six proved that every form of the female version of our great sport is continuing to rapidly grow. Roosters stars Kylie Hilder and Isabelle Kelly flew in for the day to surprise many young excited players, sharing the story of their journey to the NRL and offering advice. The Tri-colours twosome posed for hundreds of photos, spoke to teams before and after games and even conducted a warm-up session for a lucky group of under-8s leading into their game. Junee is a hub rugby league, and players young and old converge each year to experience this special event. They come from around the state to the little town of 6,000, almost doubling its population each year. Now, the girls also have a story to tell and an adventure to be had, as the female version of the knock-out competition opens up for more to be involved in our great game.
