Samples are included from most schools in District 24. Years covered are 1874 - 1879 and 1898/9, with exceptions. Children’s scores ranged from 0 to 2. A score of 1 represented a satisfactory pass while a score of 2, a fair pass. ‘R’ indicated that a pupil could not be examined in the same class again. These documents contain details on teaching staff in each school; position, age, religion, marital status, appointment date to position, appointment date under the Board, trained or untrained, classification achieved and total income. Also included are names and ages of pupils who qualified for examination by having annual attendances of 90 and later 100 days.
