She was the offi cial fashion designer for Hidden Treasure Miss Nepal 2017, and was recently selected for the renowned pageant this year, too. TEXT BY AJITA SINGH Tell us a little about yourself. It has been 15 years that I have been actively practicing fashion designing in Nepal under my brand name, Women’s Planet. I am very grateful to my clients, who have always shown love towards my work and been loyal to my brand. And, it is because of this that I have been encouraged to showcase my work at leading fashion shows in the country. I am a regular designer at TGIF Fashion Show and Mega Model. I was also recently invited to represent Nepal in the International Weaver Festival 2016 held in Dhaka, Bangladesh. I have worked with Hidden Treasure as the official designer for Miss Nepal 2017, and will be doing for 2018, as well. What inspired you to become a fashion designer? Seeking beauty is a trait that every woman has. In my early days, when I was exploring my purpose of being, I found that seeking beauty and making women feel beautiful was something I felt was engraved in me. The more I explored fashion, the more naturally it came to me. And, I got a lot of support and inspiration along the way. How would you describe your personal style? I don’t restrict myself to one genre, as fashion has so many dimensions. I always consider the occasion, my comfort, and something that would match my personality. How was your journey with the Miss Nepal pageant and the contestants? I enjoyed working with Miss Nepal, as it is one of the most reputed shows in the country. I am grateful to Hidden Treasure for entrusting me as the official designer. All the contestants were extremely nice, and I grew quite fond of them. We ended up becoming good friends. Are you looking forward to working with the pageant and new contestants? Of course, I am really excited to be working with them, and will be putting my best effort and presenting my best designs for them this year. What is your fashion advice for the coming season? It will be a surprise, as I am going to bring in new ideas this season. Name one fashion obsession of yours. If I really had to choose one, I love to experiment with designing bridal wear, something that will make the bride happy and beautiful and make her look elegant on her special day.
