Meeting facilities are all on one floor, exclusively rented for the two days. They include a meeting room, the Ballroom, which can accomodate up to 500 guests, a secretariat room (with printer and copy-machine), an atrium to be used for coffee breaks and lunches, a press conference room. Two additional rooms can be used as buffer zones if needed for coffee breaks and lunches. There is also a large wardrobe area. Seating arrangement: oval tables for both GA and Seminar, on condition that up to 300 people can be seated (normally 9 per table). Otherwise, rows of seats for Seminar day. •The hotel has a Spa with diverse saunas, a 20 m pool and a wellness centre (massages). The use of the Spa is free for AECM participants.

•Swisshotel Tallinn is situated in the crossroads of Tallinn’s business, cultural, entertainment and shopping centre and it’s just 4 km far from Tallinn International Airport. •This year the General Assembly, Seminar and all the coffee and lunch breaks will all be held in the same hotel where most of participants will stay. •For the time being a contingent of around 250 rooms has been reserved from the 8th to the 10th of June. These contingents will be kept until one month before the beginning of the event. SOCIAL PROGRAM Diner Gala

The Dinner Gala will be organised at the Concert Hall, which is situated very close to the hotel.

This beautyful, neoclassical building reconstructed in 1947, is a symbol of Estonia’s political and cultural power. Traditionally, the most festive events are held here, including receptions of Estonian President and New Years Eve celebrations.

The atmosphere of the event will begin from the foyer and wardrobes; it will be pointed out with few decoration elements harmonizing with the hall decor.

The discrete music background will be given through the speakers for all guest areas. In front of the stairs welcome drink will be served.

The doors of the hall will be opened to the first guests. Waiters and waitresses will be assisting people to find proper seats, the participants will be sitting at the round tables seating 10 prs per table.

After welcome speeches the first course will be served. Throughout the evening we will have an entertainment program – during the meals pre-recorded music and between the meals live acts.

The dessert will be served at the lobby of the hall – this makes communication between guest much more flexible and comfortable.

The entertainment program will be as well as the decoration based on Estonian cultural heritage packed for the mood of gala evening. SOCIAL PROGRAM Ladies excursion

Full-day tour including “Tallinn 2011 European Cultural Capital” tour, lunch and afternoon walking tour in Tallinn Old Town

The tour will start with an overview ride through the city centre, with a short introduction to Tallinn history and people and a touch on Tallinn as host of European Capital of Culture 2011.

On the way through the Old Town visitors will have a chance to see specially designed for Capital of Culture urban installations of different scales in the frames of two European Capital of Culture programs: “LIFT11” and “Chain Of problem Points” – objects on the boundaries of art, architecture, design and landscape development.

Then guests will be invited to visit “Loovala” workshop , an open space studio-work-shop area where artists make and sell their creations. Everybody will be welcome to have a look, talk to the artists, and buy or actually make something with his own hands. Visit includes 1 hour workshop for everyone interested; it will be possible to choose between the 1 hour workshops of paintings, glass designs, textile design, art supplies, felt, ceramics, jewelry, fine art prints and a few more. The workshop includes material, practice and teaching by local artist, and guests will be able to keep their art-masterpiece as a souvenir. [the handworks will be collected on the next day, to give them time to dry-off and they will be delivered to the hotel]

The excursion will continue with a tour of the Old Town, lunch at a medieval restaurant and a private organ recital at St. Nicholas Church & Museum.

Before going back to the hotel, guest will have the chance to have a short walk to the famous Katariina Gild street , the street of artisans and have some time to visit the nearby shops. SOCIAL PROGRAM Saturday excursion

Full day excursion including short Tallinn City tour followed by trip to , hike on the bog natural trail, and visits to and Manors, Altja & Käsmu villages

The tour will start with a short intro ride via Tallinn City centre and a short overview of Modern Tallinn, with a touch of nowadays mixed in old. Further we will have a scenic drive past Kadriorg Baroque Park and Palace Ensemble, the Song Festival Grounds, and the scenic Pirita Highway. We will see the Olympic Yachting Complex in Pirita, the base for sailing events in the 1980 Olympics, and a view at the ruins of St. Birgitta’s Convent and music lovers.

After one hour we will reach the Lahemaa National Park which is the biggest nature protection area in Estonia, where we will admire several typical Estonian landscapes – forests, wetlands, lakes and rivers with lot of wild life and interesting cultural variety as restored old manors of landlords and small fishermen villages on the seashore.

At around 11:30 we will arrive to Viru bog and take a hike on the natural trail, There will be a surprise picnic served on the viewer’s platform after a half an hour hike in bog. Then we will continue to Vihula Manor House and have lunch buffet at “Tricky Ants Tavern” (located in the ice cellar of the manor).

Various workshops and activities are available at the premises of Vihula manor House Complex: activities will be introduced during lunch and people can be distributed into groups.

The tour will end with the visit to Palmse Manor and old and unique fishermen’s villages Altja and Käsmu, stroll in the villages and on the beach side. SEMINAR PROGRAM-DRAFT
