Visa Application Requirements

Important Information:

 For Pakistani visas we use an outside supplier to submit and collect the application from the embassy. Please contact us for details of our handling charge.  All NGO applications have to be accompanied by the evidence that they have been cleared by the Ministry of Interior. In order for the visa to be approved reference has to be made direct to the MoI which usually takes 4-6 weeks or clearance has to be applied for at the MoI in Islamabad. Pakistan High Commission suggests that they might grant if applicant can provide correspondence confirming the application had been made and was likely to be looked upon favourable, although they warn that it would take some time to process visas and that they may still ask applicants to come for interviews.  Visa fee is non-refundable regardless of the outcome of the visa application.

Documents Required:

1.  The passport must be valid for 6 months beyond the exit date and have at least two blank pages  Please provide a photocopy of the passport information page

2. Two Passport Photos  The photos must: o Be a standard sized passport photo o Have a white background o Have been taken within the last 6 months

3. Business Letter  The letter should include the following: o Be on company letterhead o Include the applicants full name o Mention details of the trip; dates, places and organisations to be visited o Indicate the length of stay and visa type required o State that ‘full financial responsibility will be taken for the applicant’ o Be signed by the Head of Department/Director

4. Invitation Letter  The letter should be the same format as the Business Letter but needs to be from the inviting party in Pakistan  It should also state that full responsibility should be taken for the and lodging. If this is not possible the following additional documents will need to be supplied o Flight itinerary o confirmation

5. Copy of Memorandum of Understanding  If visiting the office of an international NGO.  This is issued to the international NGO operating in Pakistan by the Economic Affairs Division of the Pakistan Government

6. Copy of Memorandum of Association  If visiting the office of a local NGO solely operating in Pakistan

7. Last Month Bank Statement  This must show the applicants UK address and full name. Online printout is acceptable as long as full name and address is stated on it. If bills are printed version and haven’t got an address on them an additional utility bill is required.

8. Clearance from the Ministry of Interior

 Applicants must be resident in the UK. This should be proven by a UK residency visa or in the case of EU passport holders a utility bill.

From Diversity Travel

We can return the passport to you by Royal Mail Special Delivery, DHL or UPS. There is no consequential loss coverage for next day couriers (Special Deliver, DHL and UPS).

We also have a same day bike service or it is possible to collect from our office.

For urgent applications or if there would be a significant financial loss should the passport be delayed we recommend using the same day bike service or collecting from our office.

IMPORTANT VISA INFORMATION

For all types of visa an applicant has to submit his/her original passport (valid for at least six months) along with photocopy, two recent passport size photographs (coloured with white background) and other supporting documents such as complete itinerary, hotel bookings and/or sponsor letters from Pakistan, work reference letter, may be required which could vary from case to case and can be helpful in obtaining the visa. Minimum Visa application processing time is five (5) working days but it could vary depending on the nature of the case and type of the visa.

Visa Application Categories:- a) TOURIST VISA:- When the visa Officer is satisfied about the purpose of visit, Single/Double Entry Visa is issued to a tourist holding a . b) FAMILY VISA:- A single, Double or Multiple entry visa is issued to British nationals with Pakistani origin for a family visit to Pakistan. For British passport holders with expired (issue date not earlier than 01 Jan 1975) concession is granted. Such applicants must produce their expired Pakistani passport and its photocopy while children under 18 years must provide their parents’ expired Pakistani passport and photocopies along with detailed Birth Certificate and photocopy. Passport of denounced nationality will not be accepted. Note: Visa application(s) for under 18 years old applicants can only be submitted by their parents with following documents: (i) A request for issuance of visa signed by both the parents (ii) Copy of parents' passport/photo ID (iii) Original photo ID of the parents (for example UK driving license c) PILGRIM VISA:- Pilgrim visa is issued to those applicants who wish to visit Holy Places (Shrines / Gurdawaras) in Pakistan. A notice of two months is required for such applicants. d) BUSINESS VISA:- For business visa, applicant has to submit Company letter (UK based) and an Invitation letter from Pakistan with other supporting documents, which can be helpful in obtaining visa. Business visa has three categories. Single Entry, Double Entry and Multiple Entry. e) WORK / STUDENT VISA:- This type of visa requires two to three months for processing. Job offer letter/ University/ College acceptance letter and other supporting documents will be required. f) DIPLOMATIC AND OFFICIAL VISA:- Diplomatic / Official visas (in some cases) are issued free of charge to those who are visiting Pakistan for an official assignment. A note verbal from FCO would be required. g) VISA FOR NON –UK CITIZENS:- Applicants having Foreign / Non-UK passport should provide proof of residential status in the UK. Their passport must contain appropriate entry. Applicant must provide utility bill, Bank statement (applicant’s name may suffice) and work reference letter. h) VISA FOR MEDIA:- Visa applications for Media Professional are routed through Information/ Press Division of Pakistan High Commission, Contact No. 0207 664 9253. i) TRANSIT VISA:- Transit visas are issued to those who are travelling to other countries through Pakistan. Applicants for transit visas should produce the original ticket for the country of final destination.

The High Commission for Pakistan has reserved the rights to change the rules or reject visa application without assigning any reason.

• Visa fee is subject to periodical revision without notice. • Visa fee is charged per person not per passport. If children are endorsed in the passport additional fee will be charged. • Fee is only payable in cash or postal order made out in the name of high commission for Pakistan. Personal cheques are not accepted. • Visa fee is not refundable even if visa is refused.
