This month's message is focused on the recently held fun day match. Everyone there had a great time, good food, and lots of fun. There were a total of 14 puppies and 9 adults. Many different people judged with positive feedback provided by Richard Welty that he learned a lot actually doing the judging. It gives you a much better perspective when you are in the ring. Special thanks to Kim Glenn and Cindi Mcinturf for putting on such a great feed and fun match. The results of the fun day are as follows:

Best Adult in Match (Judge - Bruce Glenn): Bristol () exhibited by Cindy Mcinturf

The best thing about the fun day match was seeing people exhibit unfamiliar . Scott Ferris handled a Vislas for Dr. Collier; Caitlyn Ames (Chuck & Bonnie granddaughter) handled one of the corgi puppies; Ruby Clark (Steve & Marilyn's Granddaughter) handled one of the Tibetans; lots of people handled the Papillons (who couldn't! I). We also had many local residents in the park come and visit the puppies. This was a great public relations effort for the Richland Kennel Club. Thanks to everyone who was there and made the day fantastic! to closmg, I want to remind everyone that our next meeting will be Thursday, June 6, 2013 at the if 'land Community Center. I hope to have a speaker at the meeting to talk about dog products. I look fOct'1Nard to seeing all of you again and the good conversations that we have, even if dogs is not the topic of discussion.

NOTE: Attendance was not taken so I tried to recall members in attendance. I apologize if I missed anyone.

President Chuck Ames identified that this meeting will incorporate both the general meeting and the board meeting for this month and thanked everyone for attending. There was a nice turnout and lots of puppies to practice at the match. He also provided that this meeting would be run a little out of order and proceeded into the show chairman report

Fall Dog Show - Chuck Ames (Fall Show Chairman) reported on updated information concerning the upcoming RKCfall dog show. The premium list has been edited and returned to Onofrio. The Harrier Club of America and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club of America will each be holding their National •• Regional Specialties on Friday concurrent with our Obedience/Rally trials. The Harrier Club of America will be supporting our shows on Saturday and Sunday and will hold a concurrent specialty on Saturday following breed judging. The Pointer club of America will be supporting our show on Saturday. There will be no Afghan Hounds due to their National and we will hold an Owner/Handler series on Saturday. Our show weekend will be filled with a lot of events and should be exciting.

The Tri-Cities Visitor and Convention Bureau is working with us to promote the Tri-City area and will provide us with a nice magazine to hand out along with "passport" cards which we will give out to exhibitors. This card will be presented to local merchants for discounts and other benefits.

Chuck also identified he is a little concerned about the premium list as he believes the Columbia Basin Dog Training Club is still working their show. He will continue to pursue this issue. Instant Raffle - Bonnie Jo reported that we still need more donations to fill baskets at the raffle. She also reported that during the Safety Exposition, she got in contact with a promotional salesman who provided catalogs to get promotional items with RKClogos attached to them. The prices are really good and this could expand awareness the Richland Kennel Club by having items with our logo on them in the raffle.

GENERALCLUB MINUTES - Did not bring up for a vote.

Treasurers Report - No report provided.

Secretary Report - No report provided.

New Member Readings - Unfortunately, the President did not have his book with him and so did not have these member applications available to discuss. The following individuals will receive their final reading at the June meeting: Nancy Schultz (Bernes Mountain Dog), and Ashley Gabbert (German Shepherd Dog).

Old Business

There was no old business.

New Business

Leila Grandemarge has been working to line up an animal cardiologist to provide an OFA certified heart clinic at the fall show. Based on initial conversations with the doctor, it looks like the Club will need to guarantee the $1500 fee for his services for Saturday, September 28. This is a $25.00/dog for 50 dogs plus expenses. Cindi Mcinturf believed this would be beneficial as it is difficult to get this type of testing and that is has been very expensive. Following discussion, Cindi motioned, and Scott Ferris seconded, to guarantee this fee with a $35.00 fee per dog to help defray costs. Motion carried.

Based on the earlier discussion about promotional items, Marion Ford motioned, and Scott Ferris seconded, to authorize Bonnie Jo to spend up to $1000 for promotional items for the RKCinstant raffle. Motion carried.

No additional new business items were brought up for discussion.

Following the appropriate motion and second, the meeting was adjourned and the members proceeded to participate in the fun day match. More provided in the President's Bark.

Respectfully submitted for Recording Secretary (Sarah Tragesser).
