(Accepting most insurance plans.) HEALTH CENTER MASSILLON The Independent | IndeOnline.com | Wednesday, October 26, 2016 C3 MASSILLON: THREE TIGERS TO WATCH Seth Blankenship , 6-foot-1, 141 pounds, senior WHY WATCH: Maybe the most scrutinized quarterback in AUSTIN Stark County because of the fishbowl that is the combi- JASINSKI nation of the position he plays and the program he plays for, Blankenship’s steadiness has grown with each pass- ing game. He has become significantly more efficient with his passing, the kind of growth one would expect from a quarterback who will be making his 20th consecutive appearance and 14th consecu- tive start for the Tigers. While the term “game manager” may sound like a backhanded compliment, it’s not when describ- ing what Blankenship has been able to do for Massillon. His ability to take care of the football while making plays when needed has added a dimension to the which forces to be concerned with both the run and the pass.

Austin Jasinski Receiver, 6-1, 163, senior WHY WATCH: Arguably the best deep threat in the area. Already the owner of Mas- sillon’s single-game record for receptions (15) and receiving yards (222) — which he did in the opener against Mentor — Jasinski has consistently put up 100-plus-yard receiving games over the second half of the season. That has helped him to climb up to No. 3 in the all- time record books in terms of receiving yards, behind only Devin Jordan and Devin Smith. What Jasinski has been able to do is take the top off of defense with his ability to go deep, forcing a decision on how to defend the Tiger run game while not allowed the speedy receiver to sprint past them for yet another long touch- down catch.

JAMIR THOMAS Jamir Thomas -, 6-1, 218, sophomore WHY WATCH: Injury cost one of the top soph- omores in the state almost two full games in the second half of the season. However, Thomas returned in Week 8 and is regaining his form as one of the most physical players in the area. On offense, he provides a powerful back capable of picking up the tough yards, which is why the Tigers made him such a focal point early on in the season despite his defensive responsibilities as well. On defense, he flies to the football, often finding himself in the backfield shortly after the snap. That’s how he’s been able to take the team lead in tackles for loss, while also standing second on the team in total tackles despite missing the time he did in Weeks 6 and 7.

Much like Thomas as well, Chandler is a punishing two-way player who can get the tough yards on offense while making the yards tough to get on defense. The junior linebacker is a playmaker on defense, Good Luck! plain and simple. More than 80 tackles on the season and more than a dozen tackles for loss show that the GlenOak transfer finds his way to the football on either side of the line of scrimmage.
