Melbourne High School
Trans-Tasman Shield for schoolboys’ water polo.
Has been held annually for 14 years. Begun by Chris Hayward of Sacred Heart College, Auckland, as a way of strengthening ties between New Zealand and Australia.
This year Melbourne is hosting the competition for the second time. Games will be held at both the Melbourne High School and Xavier College swimming pools from Monday 11 December through to the finals on Friday 15 December.
Games generally are from 8 or 9am through to 3-4pm. The medal games are at Xavier College pool on Friday 15 December from 12.30pm.
In 2017 there are 15 schools entered, with 6 from Melbourne, 5 from New Zealand and 4 from Sydney.
