SYA seeks to support the youth sector in the county of (both & Wrekin and areas). The support we can give varies in cost, some services are free, because we secure funding elsewhere, and there are others for which we have to charge. This letter seeks to clarify our offer.

Universal offer to all clubs

 Training o Access to a range of free online courses through the Skills network o Young Leader Training (Funded by The Big Lottery) o Limited places on fully funded Level 2 & 3 youth work courses . Young people in clubs wanting to take on a more responsible role can do our young leaders’ training and receive ongoing support to enable them to become tomorrow’s leaders o Courses for which we charge . First Aid . Food Hygiene . Drugs & Alcohol o Bespoke training to help build skills and resilience

 Access to our equipment store o Some equipment is free to borrow (a small fee maybe necessary for consumables) o High value equipment like Laser Guns & Silent Disco etc. . Costs £30.00 per day & £15 per evening + VAT

 An Annual Celebration Event

 Youth Forum (Funded by The Big Lottery) o We have a Countywide Youth Form, where young people can have their say and work on issues that interest them at County level

 Member of Youth Parliament – Shropshire Council area (Funded by The Big Lottery) o Campaign to become an MYP and represent the views of Shropshire young people in national & regional arena’s o Telford & Wrekin Council have their own MYP with whom we will work closely

 Activity & Issue Resources o Packs with session plans and equipment to deliver age appropriate activities/sessions on relevant and important issues. o Free access to National Trust properties (via SYA’s membership card and pre- booking) o Greatly reduced admission charges to Gorge Museum

 Support Worker Visits o To run an activity offer help, advice and mentor your volunteers. . Costs £20.00 per hour

 Club management o Funding . Help to identify funding . Help to write bids o Access to a GDPR compliant club management system o Affiliation to UK Youth . They have lots of resources and training o Templates for starting a club, policies, procedures and forms o Termly Newsletter o Regular sector updates and offers o Certificates awarded to clubs as they acquire recognised quality standards o Enhanced DBS checks . Volunteers £18.00 . Paid staff £58.00 (including VAT)

Thanks to a grant from Shropshire Council, we are able to offer voluntary youth clubs within the Shropshire area (At least until 31.7.21), the following free support:

 Support worker visits to your club, to run an activity, offer help, advice and mentor your volunteers  Deliver a training offer including: o A limited number of places on Youth Work courses (Nationally accredited to Level 2 & 3) o Shropshire Safeguarding Children’s Network training. o Bespoke training to help build skills and resilience  Networking events  Advice and guidance on all club issues from writing a constitution to completing a risk assessment  Help with volunteer recruitment and training  A club start up package including advice for management committees  Free Enhanced DBS checks for volunteers
