One of the most important lessons materializes as one reads about the shift from private to public libraries: university and state libraries not only acquire and disseminate knowledge but also preserve it. This is a too-often forgotten function of the library. This volume of essays reminds us of it, and of the prestige and attraction to future scholars that even a simple collection will grow to have. Books on the Move is not an easy read. Although archivists and bibliographers will appreciate the intricately researched articles, the detail at times is overwhelming and the larger point sometimes difficult to ascertain. But for the specialist audience with a firm grasp of the terminology, these essays will not fail to please, assembling as they do cutting-edge discoveries from a recent conference. The proceedings of the Annual Conference on Book Trade History have been published since 1981 by Harris and Myers, joined by Mandelbrote in 2000. The books are co-published by Oak Knoll Press and the British Library, and those interested in more information on provenance history should consult the publishers’ web sites.     Margaret Bennett 143 FROM THE OUTER HEBRIDES TO THE EASTERN TOWNSHIPS OF CANADA IN THE NINETEENTH CENTURY Professor Margaret Bennett, Honorary Research Fellow University of St Andrews, Scotland Abstract The Potato Famine of 1846–56 severely affected the West Highlands and Is- lands of Scotland, forcing mass emigration to the New World. Those who settled in Quebec kept alive memories about the homeland, the Atlantic cross- ing, the allocation of land in the Eastern Townships, company houses, pio- neer homesteading, optimism, faith, and community spirit. Only newspapers and official records document the famine, while fireside stories handed down through generations tell of faith, hope, loyalty, honesty, neighbourliness and hard work. Today, Scotland’s “Old Alliance” with France is reflected in a new relationship reviving interest and kinship on both sides of the Atlantic.   • Orion Mine Finance Disposes of Shares of Stornoway Diamond Corporation
    ORION MINE FINANCE DISPOSES OF SHARES OF STORNOWAY DIAMOND CORPORATION TORONTO, ONTARIO – April 25, 2019 – Orion Mine Finance announced today that Orion Co- Investments I LLC (“Orion Equity Co-Invest”), a company managed by Orion Mine Finance Management I Limited (“Orion”), entered into a sale agreement for the disposition of 90,000,000 common shares (“Common Shares”) of Stornoway Diamond Corporation (“Stornoway”) for aggregate consideration of $3,600,000 or $0.04 per Common Share. After the transaction, Orion, through Orion Equity Co-Invest, owns 22,083,596 Common Shares. In addition, Orion, through Orion Co-Investments I (Convert) LLC, another entity managed by Orion, holds US$20,500,000 aggregate principal amount of convertible debentures of Stornoway, which are convertible into Common Shares at any time prior to maturity on July 8, 2021 at a conversion rate of US$0.8863. Assuming conversion of the convertible debentures, Orion’s securityholding percentage in the Common Shares is 4.45%. This represents a decrease of 8.87% from Orion’s securityholding percentage of 13.32% immediately prior to the transaction. Orion holds common shares and convertible debentures of Stornoway for investment purposes. Orion has no current plan or future intentions which relate to, or would result in, acquiring additional securities of Stornoway, disposing of securities of Stornoway, or any of the other actions enumerated in Item 5 of Form 62-103F1 published by the Canadian Securities Administrators. Depending on market conditions, Orion’s view of Stornoway’s prospects and other factors considered relevant by Orion, Orion may acquire additional securities of Stornoway from time to time in the future, in the open market or pursuant to privately negotiated transactions, or may sell all or a portion of its securities of Stornoway.

This process will allow those selected companies to bid on the assigned tender package. The package will include technical drawings and specifications of all the components and parts. 1.3 Terms The work included will take place at the north east corner of Booth and Wellington streets in Ottawa (Ontario), implemented from March 2015 to December 2015, for a total expenditure of approximately $6 million (including all applicable taxes). The NCC is planning to tender this project in December 2014. It is anticipated that construction will begin in March of 2015. Part of the monument will need to be completed for a small ceremony in late August, then construction of the remaining parts of the monument will resume immediately after the ceremony.

Monday July 24, had us in the RV driving to Seattle for the PNSA, with a stop over to visit Wendy’s Mom in Kelowna. Arriving on Wednesday, we set-up our Hospitality Room, that continued until Saturday Night, it was the visiting spot for Imperial Divan, PNSA Potentates, Divan and Al Azhar Nobles. At one point, I think we had 40 Guests for elbow room only. July 27 - Thursday had us playing at the Nile Golf Course, where we made-up about 75% of the Golfers. That evening, we attended our last Counterparts Dinner and a farewell to all the Nobles who we have enjoyed working with over the last 5 Years. Friday was competition day, when we watched Al Azhar Oriental Band and Air Corp perform. Later in the day we attended in the Evening Parade. “Fast Eddie” had his Jag cleaned and polished so that the Divan could ride in the parade. Saturday finished with a few of us playing 9 holes of golf, again at the Nile Golf Course, an afternoon Cocktail Party in the Nile Potentate’s Office followed by the Presidents Banquet. Quite a Head Table with 15 of 17 Potentates attending. Started back home July 30, with a stop to see Noble Jim Croft in Keremeos BC, on to the Castlegar RV and Golf Course for 2 nights and 18 Holes, up to Balfour and the only FREE BC Ferry ride across the Kootenay Lake.
