According to the Budget.11.2018 2021- 22, the government‟s gross borrowing was estimated at Rs 12.05 lakh crore in the financial year beginning April 1. In the first half of 2021-22, borrowing Rs 7.24 lakh crore, which is 60.06 per cent of the gross issuances The government raises money from the market to fund its fiscal deficit through dated securities and treasury bills. Government announced Interest Rates on Small Savings Schemes for Q1 of FY 2021-22 (April-June) The rate of interest on Small Savings Schemes for the first quarter (April-June) of 2021-22will remain unchanged as the last quarter (January-March) of 2020-2021. Earlier on March 31, 2021, the Government had announced a cut in interest rates on various small savings schemes sharply by 40-110 basis points. However, the orders issued were withdrawn by the government on April 01, 2021. This marks the fourth consecutive quarter that the government has maintained the rates on such schemes that are effective from April 1 and remain in effect till June 30, 2021. Rate on Interest on Small Saving Schemes: Savings deposit rate has been revised from 4 per cent to 3.5 per cent annually Public Provident Fund rate has been cut down to 6.4 per cent from 7.1 per cent annually.

PMA will be responsible for appraisal of applications/ proposals, verification of eligibility for support, scrutiny of claims eligible for disbursement of incentive.The PLI scheme will support creation of global food manufacturing champions and support Indian brands of food products in the international markets. This Department not only informs the public on the plans, policies and programmes of the Government, but also works to ensure people's participation in the successful implementation of different developmental programmes and schemes. To implement these programmes and to make those people-oriented, the Department also functions at District and Sub-divisional levels. THE ORGANISATIONAL SET-UP The Department was created originally as a part of the Home Department and was named as Home (Public Relations) Department. Subsequently it was separated from the Home Department on the 8th July 1978 and started functioning as an independent Department of the State Govt. in the name of Information & Public Relations Department. At present 32 Publicity Districts (Including Bhubaneswar & Rourkela) each headed by District Information & Public Relations Officer are functioning under the administrative control of this Department. There are 3 Deputy Directors to supervise the work of DIPROs at 3 Revenue Divisional Headquarters i.e. Cuttack, Sambalpur & Berhampur respectively. The total staff strength of the Department is 754 out of which Group- A Officers are 18, Group-B Officers are 77, Group-C personnel are 344 and Group-D personnel are 315. A sum of TRs 427326 has been estimated under State Plan and Non-Plan Schemes for the financial year 2012-13.
