SPIRITUAL FOUNDATION Spiritual Pope John Paul II Catholic High School encourages students to deepen their faith life in the way of Christ in the Catholic Formation tradition through experiences of Mass and other liturgies, retreats, and Campus Ministry. Religion courses help students explore the scriptures, morality, social justice, church history, and other faith topics rooted in the Catholic tradition. Service Students learn the value of service and lay the foundation for lifelong habits of volunteerism as they meet the graduation Learning requirement of 100 community service hours. Students serve at churches, schools, and charitable organizations, and in school activities such as spring Service Day, blood drives, and other activities during the year. CURRICULUM Graduation Requirements 28.5 academic credit hours, 100 community service hours Advanced Placement U.S. History, Biology, Calculus A/B, Chemistry, Government & Politics: United States, English Language and Composition, English Literature and Composition, European History, World History. Honors Classes 15 Dual College Credit Offered through the University of Alabama in Huntsville to Juniors and Seniors Grading Quality Points are totaled and divided by the number of credits. Pope John Paul II Catholic High School weights all AP and approved dual-enrollment classes with a weight qualifier of 0.5 per designated class. Transcripts show a weighted/unweighted GPA.
