GETTING STARTED: • Place the sumo ring platform in the middle of the table. • Al players pick their favorite sumo wrestler and choose a side of the ring to sit or stand by. • Wind up the timer on the bottom of the sumo ring. • You are now ready to start! HOW TO PLAY: At the count of ‘3, 2, 1’ go! The players start rolling their wrestlers across the platform in an attempt to make them come to a stop in the middle of the ring. Watch out, the game will get active as all the sumo wrestlers slide into and out of the ring. HOW TO WIN: The countdown timer will continue ticking down each time a sumo wrestler stops in the middle of the ring. When the timer runs out, the platform will pop sending the winning sumo wrestler to the top and crowning the King of the Ring. PLAY AGAIN: To play the next round, push down the tower, snap it back into place and rewind the timer. King of the Ring™ is a trademark of YULU®. © 2019 YULU®. All Rights Reserved. Travers Scott, Committee Chair Dr. Erin Ash Dr. Darren Linvill ABSTRACT For a long time, professional wrestling has existed on the outskirts of society, with the idea that it was just for college-aged men. With the rise of the popularity of the World Wrestling Entertainment promotion, professional wrestling entered the mainstream. Celebrities often appear at wrestling shows, and the WWE often hires mainstream musical artists to perform at their biggest shows, WrestleMania and Summer Slam. Despite this still-growing popularity, there still exists a gap between men’s wrestling and women’s wrestling. Often the women aren’t allowed long match times, and for the longest time sometimes weren’t even on the main shows.

WWE’s WrestleMania Reading Challenge Toolkit Created by 50 E. In response to requests from librarians, the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), with the support of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), now offers librarians the opportunity to participate in the WWE Reading Challenge. Goal: to reach reluctant readers and get more teens reading by implementing a reading incentive program that provides prizes from World Wrestling Entertainment as a reward. The Reading Challenge is a program designed to encourage teens to not only continue their reading beyond TRW, but to earn a reward for doing so by offering chance to win prizes donated by WWE. This is a win-win situation for librarians because it provides you with a way to extend TRW as well as an opportunity to reach out to reluctant readers. Program Overview: • The program will be implemented through libraries. For libraries to participate, the librarian must register online at www.ala.org/yalsa (it’s free) by no later than October 21st, 2006. • The program is for teens in grades 9-12. • All teens will be challenged to read 10 items (including magazines, but not more than 2. the other 8 must be chapter books) in their free time between Oct.
