Kodaline Releases New Album Politics of Living Today KODALINE RELEASES NEW ALBUM POLITICS OF LIVING TODAY CLICK HERE TO LISTEN TO THE ALBUM Set To Tour North America Starting In November With Special Guests Ocean Park Standoff (New York, New York – September 28, 2018) – Ireland’s breakthrough, UK platinum- selling band, Kodaline releases their highly anticipated new album Politics of Living today via Sony Music UK/RCA Records. On Politics of Living, Kodaline teams up with some of the hottest production and writing talent imaginable including hitmaker supreme Steve Mac (Ed Sheeran, Liam Payne), pop guru Johnny Coffer (Rag’N’Bone Man, Beyoncé), Jonas Jeberg (Dizzee Rascal, Kylie Minogue), Stephen Harris (Miles Kane, Kaiser Chiefs) as well as long-time collaborator Johnny McDaid (P!NK). After a blockbuster summer including playing to a sold out crowd of 21,000 fans at Dublin’s Malahide Castle in June, as well as sets at the Isle Of Wight and TRNSMT festivals, Kodaline is set to tour North America with special guests Ocean Park Standoff this fall. Politics of Living will be the first collection of new music since 2015's Coming Up For Air, which went Gold in the UK. The band's debut album, In A Perfect World has sold over a million copies worldwide and imprinted itself on the nation's consciousness with streaming figures well into the 100s of millions. They continue in a predictable but inescapable manner for a band with a relatively small repertoire, playing a selection of songs from their upcoming album In a Perfect World. Of course, including the justly famous ‘All I Want’ their debut single that shot to fame and has been heard by millions (knowingly or not) thanks to Google’s ‘Zeitgeist 2012’ television advert. A haunting and moving performance of a very good song. Much in the same vein, Kodaline’s other songs are beautifully crafted pieces of music, simple, memorable melodies being the template for all; a formula sure to generate popular appeal. The performance is polished and nearly without fault. There’s always a danger when dense rock invades smaller venues; sometimes the melodies are lost to the heavy drumming and bass, resulting in headaches rather than gratification, and the result can be clunky rather than chunky. Kodaline avoid this pitfall entirely. Steve, Mark, Vinny and Jason’s instruments blend easily together to create one loud and powerful sound: a true band, not simply four individuals contributing their own disconnected musical components. Throughout the set, we were treated to persistently solid timekeeping from drummer, Vinny, and faultless fretwork from all three guitarists.
