To begin the new year, Austin County officials were sworn into office in a special meeting of commissioners court on Jan. 1. Precinct 3 Commissioner Randy Reichardt had already announced he would not be running for another term after his expired at the end of 2020 and Leroy Cerny ran unopposed and won the November election. Reichardt was presented with a retire- ment plaque honoring his 15 years of service. Kovar engaged Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hanzelka Jr. of Orchard announce the engagement of their daughter, Breanna Alexis Hanzelka, to Allan James Kovar, son of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Kovar of Wallis. The couple plans to exchange vows at 2:00 p.m. on May 15 at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Creative Care Children’s School held its official ribbon cutting with the Sealy Chamber of Commerce on Dec. 16, 2020.
