Sport Public Accounts and Estimates Committee The Hon John Eren MP, Minister for Sport 30 May 2018 2018-19 Victorian Budget – Sport $1,400.00 New budget commitments $1,200.00 2015-2016 to 2018-19 $1,000.00 • Total - $1.33 billion • Average - $332.75 million per $800.00 year $600.00 2011-12 to 2014-15 $400.00 • Total - $584.27 million • Average - $146 million per $200.00 year $0.00 2011-12 to 2014-15 2015-16 to 2018-19 2018-19 Victorian Budget – Sport $484.4 million will secure the future of sport in Melbourne and across Victoria – from grassroots clubs to the state’s biggest venues. (plus the $100 million Community Sports Loan Scheme ) 2018-19 Victorian Budget – Sport • $60 million for the Community Sports Infrastructure Fund • $15 million boost for the Female Friendly Facilities Fund • $5 million for Community Sports Infrastructure Loans, which will unlock $100 million to upgrade local facilities • $15.4 million for sport and recreation opportunities in our parks 2018-19 Victorian Budget – Sport • $5 million for Community Sports Infrastructure Loans, which will unlock $100 million to upgrade local facilities Significant Sporting Events Program Victorian Major Stadia Funding Program • $225 million to redevelop Etihad Stadium Precinct and leverage considerable additional value for sport in Victoria: • AFL Grand Final at the MCG until 2057 • At least 9 games per annum at GMHBA Stadium (Kardinia Park) and 2 games per annum at Eureka Stadium • increase in financial match returns to tenant AFL clubs at the MCG, securing the future sustainability of clubs in Victoria • $5 million to update the National Sports Museum at the MCG • $1 million to plan future redevelopments at Whitten Oval and Eureka Stadium Women & Girls in Sport and Recreation The Government is strongly committed to increasing women’s participation and leadership in sport and recreation • $15 million to boost $14 million already allocated to our Female Friendly Facilities Fund • $67 million to support purpose built competition and training facilities for professional women’s sport in Victoria: • $10 million Melbourne Victory Football Centre at Footscray Park • $12 million Victorian Rugby League Centre of Excellence at Johnstone St Reserve in Broadmeadows • $13 million to redevelop Moorabbin Reserve • $5 million towards the Casey Fields upgrade • $5 million for Whitten Oval • $2 million for Victoria Park • $20 million to redevelop Ikon Park (subject to a contribution of Federal Government funding). • $64.6 million redevelopment of the State Netball and Hockey Centre Sport Public Accounts and Estimates Committee The Hon John Eren MP, Minister for Sport 30 May 2018.
