Siemens to invest 200 million U.S. dollars and create up to 1,000 new jobs cutting CO2 emissions by more than half. Mexico and Siemens have reaffirmed their commitment to boost the country's competitiveness and foster sustainable development over the next ten years. Today, the Secretary of Economy, Ildefonso Guajardo Villarreal, and Joe Kaeser, President and CEO of Siemens AG, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at an official ceremony at the Siemens Headquarter in Mexico City. The Munich public prosecutor announced the termination of legal proceedings alleging the failure of the former Managing Board of Siemens AG to fulfill its supervisory duties. Siemens agreed to pay a fine of €395 million. The payment of the fine marks the conclusion of this legal proceeding against the Company by the Munich public prosecutor. The investigations of former members of the Managing Board, employees of the Company and other individuals remain unaffected by this resolution.
