DOHA: The opening of the Souq Waqif Eid Al Adha Festival highlighted the sec- ond day of Eid Al Adha with dozens of performers from other countries. Juggler extraordinaire Ian Merchant and a huge team of performers from Circus: Mother Africa Snow as well as the Snow White show and Titan the Robot, who appeared in var- ious shows around the world, drew thousands of onlookers. Other featured acts included Dave the Chameleon, Magician on Stick, Bjorn the Polar Bear, Manyard Flip Flap, Ballonatic and Gorilla. Shows run from 4.30pm till 10.30pm until Saturday at various venues in the souq. Visitors also thronged the Museum of Islamic Art to watch the concert of young jazz artist Etienne Charles who also performs at the Jazz at Lincoln Center Doha at St Regis Doha. Malls also pulsated with life with various shows which are organised in cooperation with the Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA). The ongoing “Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves” show at Katara has been a crowd puller with around 130,000 people coming to Katara during the first two days of Eid. Thousands of GCC tourists have come to Doha for the fes- tival.
