3 Vanpool COVID-19 Safety Awareness

• Discuss with your supervisor to support a staggered (A/B) scheduling concept to split the number of people per vehicle to create physical distance. • Vanpool providers should keep their vans clean to include surfaces inside the vehicles such as keys, steering wheel, center console, cup holders, gear shift, door handles and panels • Have additional vehicles ready to support social distancing requirements, as well as replacing vehicles that may have been exposed to COVID-19 • Wear face coverings while in the van and around other passengers • Practice good hygiene • Stay home if you are sick or feel sick

• I-66 Express Mobility Partners (EMP) is VDOT’s partner

• Best value for Virginia: I-66 EMP providing $3.5 billion for project: • $2.3 billion for highway construction • $579 million for immediate transportation needs adjacent to I-66 corridor • $850 million to expand transit and $350 million for other projects over life of the contract

• EMP will operate roadway for 50 years; VDOT retains ownership

TMP Strategies Update Traffic Monitoring in the Corridor

Using traffic data from VDOT and EMP traffic counters, we monitor traffic for selected locations

• Daily Traffic Volumes

• Hourly Traffic Volumes for each hour of day and each day of week, including weekends

• Weekday AM and PM Peak Hour Volumes

• Average Weekday Hourly Volumes

Using INRIX data, we also monitor travel times for peak directions • Eastbound, for 7 to 8 AM • Westbound, for 5 to 6 PM
