Employment Opportunity: Finance Manager (Full time – 35 hrs /week)

Summary of Position: Under the direction and supervision of the Executive Director, the Finance Manager ensures that the organization’s financial and human resource systems are efficient.

Duties & Related Tasks: • Maintain an adequate bookkeeping system of all financial transactions. • Adhere to all established financial policies and procedures, while ensuring all procedures are in compliance with audit standards. • Adhere to reporting requirements as directed by the Executive Director and in accordance with funding agreements. 10-25 11-1,8 • Perform human resource duties, which will include monitoring employee time reporting, entering payroll and orientation for new employees. • A complete job description is available upon request.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications: • Post-secondary education/training in accounting and/or bookkeeping. • Previous financial experience in the non-profit sector. • Knowledge and experience in the area of human resource management. • Working knowledge of Simply Accounting/Sage 50 Accounting Software. • Excellent computer skills and experience. • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work with minimum supervision. • Effective written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to maintain confidentiality. • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to work in a team environment. • Awareness and acceptance of the cultural environment in which NGFC operates. • Must provide a criminal record and vulnerable person’s check.
