PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF NAMIBIA
No. 27 1994 GENERAL ELECTIONS FOR THE PRESIDENT AND MEMBERS OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY: DETERMINATION OF DAY AND PLACES FOR SUBMISSION OF NOMINATIONS OF CANDIDATES AND PARTY LISTS AND POLLING DAYS AND NOTIFICATION OF APPOINTED RETURNING OFFICERS
Under the powers vested in me by section 50(l) of the Electoral Act, 1992 (Act 24 of 1992), it is hereby made known that -
(a) I have determined, in terms of that section -
(i) 7 November 1994 as -
(aa) the day on which a public sitting shall be held for the sub- mission of nominations of candidates for election as President;
(bb) the last day on which a list of candidates shall be submitted for nomination of candidates for election as a member of the National Assembly;
(ii) that -
(aa) the said nominations shall be submitted to the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission at the High Court, Windhoek;
(bb) the said list of candidates shall be submitted to the Com- mission at the Directorate of Elections, Parsival Street, Wind- hoek;
(iii) 7 December and 8 December 1994 as the days upon which the poll of the election shall be taken;
(b) the person whose name appears in the second column of the Schedule opposite the name of a constituency or polling station referred to in section 73(2A), has been appointed in terms of the provisions of section 5 1 of the said Act as returning officer at the election in that constituency or polling station.
