Bajo un enfoque fundamentalmente arqueológico e histórico, se descubren estructuras locales plena- mente autosuficientes, lejanas al control del Estado y ajenas a los grandes procesos de con- centración de excedentes, lo que permite explicar las dificultades para la ocupación islámica y su implantación efectiva en el territorio.     LA POBLACIÓN DE BENALAURÍA EN EL SIGLOJosé XVIII Miguel Rodríguez Calvente (Graduado en Historia) RESUMEN: En este estudio se muestran y examinan las cifras de población de la localidad malagueña de Benalauría, analizando los diferentes censos realizados durante el Siglo XVIII, desde el Vecindario de Campoflorido, hasta el Censo de Floridablanca. De igual manera y, a modo de contexto, se hace un reco- rrido por la población existente desde la incorporación de esta villa a la jurisdicción castellana. Se analiza los aumentos de población y las variaciones poblacionales plasmadas en los censos del setecientos. SUMMARY: This study shows and examines the population numbers of Benalauría in Malaga, analysing the different censuses carried out during the 18th century, from the neighborhood of Campoflorido, to the census of Floridablanca.     HISTORIA LA SERRANÍA DE RONDA UnaEnn t propuestaOr O al para MO el rabitisanálisis deMO sus En rábitas y zāwiya-s Virgilio Martínez Enamorado (CSIC) y Manuel Becerra Parra (IERS) RESUMEN: Presentamos en este trabajo un estudio comarcal sobre las rábitas y zagüías de la Serranía de Ronda. Con ello, pretendemos aportar luz renovada sobre el fenómeno morabítico en esta comarca a lo largo del periodo andalusí o, incluso, morisco. PALABRAS CLAVE: Rábita, sufismo, al-Ándalus, Serranía de Ronda, arqueología. SUMMARY: In this work we present a regional study on the ribats and zaouias of the Serrania de Ronda. In this article we attempt to shed new light on the marabout phenomenon in the region during the Andalusi, or Moorish, period. KEY WORDS: Ribats, Sufism, al-Andalus, Serrania de Ronda, archaeology. El fenómeno morabítico en la Serranía de Ronda apenas si ha sido analizado. Si acaso, la resonancia de un personaje como Ibn ‘Abbād ha podido generar una atención sobre su ciudad natal, merecida, pero ajena a la componente territorial e, incluso, ar- queológica que este fenómeno tiene, por un lado, y a la componente eminentemente sociológica de esta manifestación cultural, por otro. Tal vez la presencia de un mon- fismo serrano en los años finales del siglo xvi1 no sea sino una continuación de aque- llos grupos de ascetas que pululaban por estas ásperas montañas y que tenían como hitos arquitectónicos de referencia rábitas y zāwiya-s. Prácticas sufíes relativas a la Serranía de Ronda, como el ayuno, pueden ser entresacadas entre los testimonios escritos. Recordemos como Ibn Jaldūn relata cómo él mismo fue testigo de quien permaneció sin comer 40 días o más.
