In Canada, the university system currently accommodates approximately 645,000 students and is expected to rise to 845,000 students in 10 years. Each university provides the student with an unique experience. From SFU's campus on top of Mountain to Dalhousie's close proximity to the Atlantic Ocean, there is something for everyone. This map portrays the location of each university in Canada, based on Maclean's three types of classification: Primarily Undergraduate, Comprehensive, and Medical Doctoral. Primarily Undergraduate universities focuses on undergraduate education and has very few graduate programs. Comprehensive universities have a significant amount of research and a diverse range of academic programs for undergraduates and graduates, as well as professional degrees. Medical Doctoral universities include numerous Ph.D. programs and a significant amount of research, including medical schools. The pie charts below illustrate the highest number of student-body population, based on the three types of university classification. This number includes full-time and part- time students.
