Position: Hurricanes Storm Squad – Casual Employee

Department: Marketing & Commercial

Manager: Marketing, Media & Community Manager

Role Purpose: As a member of the Storm Squad you will be responsible for taking the Hurricanes brand out to the community and bringing people to home matches. You will be responsible for increasing our fan base, membership base and match attendances.

Key Responsibilities

Fans, Community and Events ▪ Implement fun, exciting and interactive activations to develop the passion of existing fans and engage new fans in the Hobart Hurricanes brand. ▪ Engage with fans to sell the Hobart Hurricanes brand and match day experience to the wider community. ▪ Interact and engage with kids to generate excitement about the Hobart Hurricanes brand. ▪ Assist in increasing ticket, membership and merchandise sales Match Day ▪ Work as part of the team to implement all aspects of the fan experience at Blundstone Arena for Hobart Hurricanes home matches, this may include: o Setup of activations and theming at Blundstone Arena on match day o Operation, management and supervision of activations and activities around the ground on match day o Implementation of on ground entertainment and activations throughout the match ▪ Work as part of the team to expand the Match Day Experience for Hobart Hurricanes home matches, away from Blundstone Arena, this may include: o Setup activations and theming around the wider Hobart area to generate excitement o Operation, management and supervision of activations and activities around the wider Hobart area ▪ Assist in increasing fan satisfaction levels of attendees at Hobart Hurricanes home matches Other ▪ Staff Hobart Hurricanes pop-up stall to sell tickets, memberships and merchandise

You must at all times support the development, implementation and review of risk control and mitigation strategies and otherwise act in accordance with Cricket Tasmania’s Risk Appetite level, as determined by the Board.

Duties under Workplace Health and Safety Requirements

It’s your duty to comply with the Cricket Tasmania policies and procedures which are designed to protect your health and safety at work. As part of this duty, you must comply with all reasonable instructions from managers in relation to health and safety issues at work. This means participating in workplace health and safety training and consultation, cooperating with Cricket Tasmania as required ensuring compliance with the law and reporting any incidents, hazards and near misses.

Key Position Requirements

Essential ▪ Available for Hobart Hurricanes home match days as follows: o 15th December o 16th December o 18th December o 24th December o 28th December o 4th January o 29th January o 7th February o Plus additional dates (, 6th and 27th October, 17th and 24th November, 8th, 9th, 22nd 29th, 30th, 31st December and 1st February) (Will not be needed for all dates)

▪ Enthusiastic and energetic personality with a can-do attitude ▪ A strong desire to learn ▪ A willingness to work flexible working hours including weekends ▪ Knowledge and interest in the Sport and Entertainment industry ▪ A passion for Tasmania and an interest in developing the Hobart Hurricanes brand

Desired Skills and Attributes ▪ Currently studying a relevant tertiary course or similar in areas of sport management, marketing, event management, teaching, or other course ▪ Experience working in promotions and/or events ▪ Experience in fan engagement ▪ Experience in community engagement ▪ Experience in sales and/or marketing ▪ Strong verbal communication skills ▪ Strong understanding of social media and digital technology
