ROUTE DESCRIPTION

Starting at Keptie Pond, cross Keptie Road and follow Lochlands Drive north to junction. Turn left and continue on Road for ¼ mile/400m to Elmfield Avenue junction opposite & District Indoor Bowling club. Turn right and follow Elmfield Avenue turning right into Hercules Road and join the shared use path. Continue path to Kirkton Road junction. Cross over and continue to follow road to St Vigeans. Turn right and at cemetery entrance turn left. Cross bridge (take care when wet) and follow nature trail for 2.2 miles/3.5km. At the end of the nature trail, turn right. Follow Station Road to T junction and turn right. Follow road for 2.5 miles/3.8km passing Letham Grange and old St Vigeans Schoolhouse. At bottom of St Vigeans Brae turn right and immediately after St Vigeans car park before crossing the bridge turn left. Follow the path for 300m and turn left under the railway line. Continue right on shared use path to exit on to Wardmill road, continue Wardmill Road to Grant Road junction then turn left. Continue to Warddykes Road junction and turn right. At mini roundabout turn right then immediate left into Barngreen. Follow route passing , under the arch. Turn right on West Abbey Street to crossroads junction. Continue straight on Hill Place, straight on West Newgate, crossing John Street. Turn right at Seagate and follow straight on into Old Shore Head, Marketgate to Ladybridge Street junction. Turn left, follow shared use path straight on past Arbroath Harbour to Gayfield Football Ground. Join Dundee Road and at mini roundabout turn right into Viewfield Road. At mini roundabout turn right, pass Arbroath Infirmary and turn left into Nolt Loan Road. Continue Nolt Loan Roads to return to Keptie Pond. Points of interest on this route include Keptie Pond, St Vigean’s Church. Arbroath Abbey, Arbroath Harbour and Signal Tower Museum. www.visitangus.com/cycling
