PAVILION PARK | WEST DES MOINES, IA

The Des Moines metro has won another top ranking for its growth and economy, adding to an already extensive list of accolades for Iowa’s capital city. A new report from Policom Corp., a Florida- based economic research firm, ranked the Des Moines-West Des Moines metro No. 14 in its 2017 economic strength list out of 382 Metropolitan areas.

William Fruth, Policom’s president, said the rankings focus on metros that have a sound economic foundation, not necessarily recent spurts in growth. The higher the rank, the more rapid and consistent growth a metro area has. - Des Moines Register

The City of Waukee’s economy is thriving. Waukee’s long history of meaningful investment and financial stability has given the community an edge. The city is strategic in its development decisions, and recognizes that its investments in infrastructure, education and labor are vital to the success of area businesses and to the economy as a whole. Waukee has experienced phenomenal population growth over the last decade, and the draw for young, educated professionals is expected to continue in the coming years. “Our goal is to break down barriers to development,” said Community and Economic Development Director, Dan Dutcher. We want developers to know there’s a lower risk developing in Waukee than anywhere else.”—City of Waukee, Community Profile
