Autumn Term 2020, issue 8 HEADLINES

Dear Parents,

This week’s theme was Remembrance, which we feel should not get lost in the perplexity of today’s troubles, but now more than ever we should remember those members of the British and Commonwealth forces who fought so val- iantly. On Wednesday Year 7 & 8 marked Re- membrance with a poignant assembly with the whole school gathering for two minutes silence. Thank you to Year 8 who led with readings, po- etry and prayer. Today Year 2 have made a touching visit to the War Memorial in Tunbridge Wells.

Y6 Award Assessment Day for Year 7 Entry Sep- tember 2021 took place on Monday and Tues- day, well done to all our pupils who took part. Information regarding the awards will come out before the end of term.

We are in the midst of Parents’ Evening season, please can all parents identify themselves with their sur- names on their online accounts, as this helps staff with administration.

Well done to everyone who took part in the Joe Wickes workout this morning, it is wonderful to see the school come together for such a wonderful cause.

Finally, and not least, I would like to reiterate the word of Mr Phillips, regarding the appointment of Mrs Lupton as Bursar. I look forward to working with her and sincerely congratulate her on her new role. As for Mr Powell’s retirement, his talent and expertise will be sorely missed; personally, I have thoroughly enjoyed working with him and will miss him dearly.

Best wishes,

Emma Neville Head
