Dear Friends, I am delighted to release prospectus for 11th International Commerce Olympiad 2019. Having made a history of success with your wonderful cooperation, CTF is setting 11th International Commerce Olympiad-2019 in motion. ICO has since been accorded a respective place among various competitions the world over. It is incumbent upon us how to raise its level expected of us. Keeping consideration of 20 MCQs in all subjects (including Accountancy and Business Studies) by CBSE from the current year onward, ICO-2019 has become more advantageous for the students taking Board Exam in 2020. “Quest for perfection” our motto is of course powered and encouraged by your valuable contributions, which has been a source of designing the modules to enrich the teachers of Commerce fraternity and in turn their students. I feel proud to mention that each year Commerce Olympiad breaks its own record and poses us a challenge to take a giant leap. I take it as an opportunity to excel more and I am really blessed to have a wonderful team associated with CTF. It gives me immense pleasure to add that CTF’s International Commerce Olympiad is established as India’s No.1 Commerce Olympiad due to its significant role in guiding the students. In this competitive world, Commerce Olympiad helps the students to get closer to their vision. It gives them conviction, confidence and clarity of concepts. It sharpens their skills and helps them to identify the areas they need to improve. It also helps them to score better in their board exams and gives them a training of appearing in other competitive exams also. At last I would like to extend my thanks to all the Principals, Commerce teachers and school management whose support and encouragement play an important role in the growth of the Olympiad. With warm regards Dr. Dinesh Madan Founder Commerce Teachers’ Foundation 3 11th International Commerce Olympiad - 2019 Prospectus ICO - 2019 CTF’s Endeavours l Felicitation Functions: It has been the unique tradition of CTF to honor the students along with the teachers for their outstanding performance in CBSE Examination as well as CTF Commerce Olympiad. On 30th June, 2019 the Felicitation function was held at India International Centre, Max Mueller Marg, New Delhi. CTF believes in recognizing and acknowledging the sincere and dedicated efforts of the teachers and students, as felicitation works like a trigger to touch new heights in their future endeavors. l International Commerce Olympiad: CTF pioneered the concept Commerce Olympiad at National level and thereby taking first step to go International. So it has proved to be the India’s First International commerce Olympiad. The test gives the students an exposure to face the competitive world and enable them to test their conceptual clarity about the commerce subjects. l Sample Papers: Developing Sample papers on subjects - Accountancy and Business Studies for the students appearing in CBSE Board Exams. These are aimed to check their level of preparation. These papers have been developed by a team of dedicated and highly experienced commerce teachers. l Workshops: Organizing Professional Enrichment Programmes for accelerating professional growth of commerce teaching fraternity. It is an imitative to let the teachers share their teaching experiences and methodologies with fellow fraternity members. This is done with a view to update the teachers with latest changes in the curriculum. l Sharing of PPT/Question Bank/Assignment etc: This is another initiative started by CTF in 2016. It received to huge success as it become the pool of knowledge it is based on the Principle sharing means increasing one’s knowledge. l Excursion Trips: Organizing excursions trips to enhance social ties among the teachers and rejuvenate their energies. l Members Meet: Organizing open House meet to discuss the CTF initiatives and the work done. It also makes plan for the future growth and development of the organization through new activities. It’s another purpose is to bring transparency in the functioning of the organization. l Interactive Video Sessions: Keeping with the latest trends of using videos and social media tools by the students in learning the concepts. CTF has started developing interactive videos on difficult concepts. This is aimed for the board students to score more. 4 11th International Commerce Olympiad - 2019 Prospectus ICO - 2019 Diary of Events 2018 - 2019 Change is the order of the day. Keeping in mind the latest changes in the curriculum, various professional enrichment programmes on ‘Recent Changes in Curriculam of Accountancy and Business Studies’ were organised by CTF during the year. l On 10th August, 2019 a “Professional Enrichment Programme” i.e “workshop on Changes in curriculum of Accountancy and Business Studies” was organised at Delhi Public School, Karnal (Haryana). It was the first time that CTF ventured into new region thereby adding a new chapter to CTF endeavours. It was attended teachers from Karnal, Yamuna Nagar, Kurukshetra, Panipat, Sonepata, Chandigarh etc.. l On 27th July, 2019 a “Professional Enrichment Programme” i.e “workshop on Changes in curriculum of Business Studies” was organised at Air Force Bal Bharati School, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. It was conducted by Mr. G.S. Alag, an eminent author and Mrs. Mamta Narula. Both the sessions were highly appreciated by the participating teachers. This workshop was attended by 183 teachers from different part of the city. l On 13th July, 2019 another “Professional Enrichment Programme” i.e “Workshop on Changes in the curriculum of Accountancy” at St. Thomas’ School, Mandir Marg, New Delhi. The resource person for the workshop were Mr. Subhash Dey, and eminent author and In-house resource persons Mr. Harsh Kalra and Mr. Vinay Setia. In this workshop How MCQs are developed along with innovative method of teaching Accountancy was discussed.
