Storm Crew Summary: The Guelph Storm are looking for volunteers that are eager to educate and excite fans and enhance their experience during the 2016-2017 season. Our volunteers will join our team in creating a first class experience for fans throughout the Guelph community and surrounding areas on game days. Their mission will be to educate fans throughout the community making a positive impact on each and every fan’s experience at the Sleeman Centre during the 2016-2017 season. Ideal candidates possess: Charisma, approachable and a cheerful personality. A passion for hockey, the Ontario Hockey League, and the Guelph Storm. A commitment to make a difference through interaction with the fans. Ability to work well under pressure, remaining calm in all situations. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Skating an asset. Responsibilities and Duties: Creating a memorable Storm game day experience for all Guelph Storm fans. Working in partnership with security, arena staff and police to ensure a safe environment. Set up and tear down of all game day promotional material. Be personable and pro-active in providing assistance to all fans with the highest level of customer service Receive and quickly act upon requests or complaints from fans; refer serious problems to supervisory staff Retain an extensive knowledge of the team; parking locations, pre and post game entertainment options key venue attractions, key team and venue personnel identity, and emergency activity procedures. Non-Negotiable: Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Volunteers must be able to stand for at least 3 hours and lift up to 45 pounds. Volunteers will be required to work at least 80% of all Guelph Storm home dates, including pre, regular and post season games. Volunteers must comply with all Guelph Storm policies and procedures, including dress code and conduct. The Guelph Storm will provide Volunteers with: Experience working within the sports and entertainment industry. Storm Crew Jacket, Venue Access Pass, etc. Full training.
