MATTERS RAISED WITH PERMISSION 1. On the 21st November, 2007:— (i) Shri Kalraj Mishra raised a matter regarding reported shortage of basic fertilizers in the country. (ii) Shri Nabam Rebia raised a matter regarding alleged claim of China over Arunachal Pradesh. (iii) Shri Ravula Chandra Sekar Reddy raised a matter regarding demand to bring minimum support price of paddy at par with wheat. Shri D. Raja and some other members also spoke. (iv) Shri Shantaram Laxman Naik raised a matter regarding molestation of girls from Goa in . (v) Shri Prasanta Chatterjee raised a matter regarding killing of a CPI(M) activist by Maoist in Purulia.

2. On the 27th November, 2007:— (i) Shrimati Brinda Karat raised a matter regarding rights of the Adivasis in the context of non-notification of the Forests Rights Act. (ii) Shri Balavant alias Bal Apte raised a matter regarding destruction of Temples in Malaysia. (iii) Shri Ali Anwar raised a matter regarding plight of weavers. (iv) Shri Sharad Yadav raised a matter regarding misuse of Office by former Chief Justice of .

(v) Shri V. Narayanasamy raised a matter regarding attack and arrest of Indian fishermen by Sri Lankan Navy. Shri Anand Sharma, Minister of State in the Ministry of External Affairs, responded. (vi) Shri Santosh Bagrodia raised a matter regarding need for adherence to ethics by public servants in their public and private life. (vii) Shri D. Raja raised a matter regarding protest by Doctors over the Government's recruitment policy of rural Doctors. (viii) Shri Ravula Chandra Sekar Reddy raised a matter regarding Malaria and other fevers in tribal areas of Andhra Pradesh. 3. On the 28th November, 2007:— (i) Shri Harendra Singh Malik raised a matter regarding farmers agitation in . (ii) Shri Ramdas Agarwal raised a matter regarding operational mismanagement at various Airports in the country. (iii) Prof. Ram Deo Bhandary raised a matter regarding killing of Biharis in Assam by terrorists. 4. On the 29th November, 2007:— (i) Shri Shahid Siddiqui raised a matter regarding need for presentation of the Report in the . (ii) Shri Shantaram Laxman Naik raised a matter regarding need to give recognition to the first revolt of independence in Cuncolim Village of Goa. (iii) Shri Tiruchi Siva raised a matter regarding expressing concern over sufferings and bad treatment of Tamils in Malaysia. (iv) Shri V. Narayanasamy raised a matter regarding people of Indian origin languishing in Jail in Kualalumpur. (v) Shri D. Raja raised a matter regarding plight of people of Indian origin in Malaysia. Shri Suresh Pachouri, Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and Minister of State in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, responded. (vi) Shri Rajniti Prasad raised a matter regarding call of strike 13 by doctors and faculty members in AIIMS. 5. On the 30th November, 2007:— (i) Shri Tapan Kumar Sen raised a matter regarding revival of M/s. Bharat Heavy Plates and Vessels by way of its taking over by the BHEL.

(ii) Shri Ravula Chandra Sekar Reddy raised a matter regarding decision of the Gulf countries to send Indian workers back and punishment awarded to some Indians working there. (iii) Shri raised a matter regarding reported clean chit given by the CBI to a former Minister in the 1984 riots. (iv) Shri Ali Anwar raised a matter regarding need for having a discussion on the Sachar Committee Report. Shri Suresh Pachouri, Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and Minister of State in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, responded. (v) Shrimati Supriya Sule raised a matter regarding UNESCO Report on Education. (vi) Shri R. Shunmugasundaram raised a matter regarding reported remarks made by a Malaysian Minister against the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Shri Suresh Pachouri, Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and Minister of State in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, responded. 6. On the 3rd December, 2007:— (i) Shri D. Raja raised a matter regarding reported resistance against setting up of POSCO plant in Orissa (ii) Shri Shreegopal Vyas raised a matter regarding apprehension of attack on Tirupati Temple. (iii) Shrimati N.P. Durga raised a matter regarding World Disabled Day. (iv) Shri Abu Asim Azmi raised a matter regarding reported difficulties being faced by traders in bringing animals for Id-ul-Juha in Mumbai.

7. On the 4th December, 2007:— (i) Shri Jaswant Singh, Leader of the Opposition, raised a matter regarding right of the House to be kept informed on the outcome of official visits by Ministers of the Union Cabinet to foreign countries. 14

Shri Suresh Pachouri, Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and Minister of State in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, responded. (ii) Shri Tapan Kumar Sen raised a matter regarding strike by employees of the State Bank of India and its associate Banks. (iii) Shri Ravula Chandra Sekar Reddy raised a matter regarding plight of Cotton growers in Andhra Pradesh. 8. On the 5th December, 2007:— (i) Shrimati Brinda Karat raised a matter regarding rights of Dalits and increasing atrocities against them. (ii) Shri B.J. Panda raised a matter regarding discussion on draft National Mineral Policy. (iii) Shri Rudra Narayan Pany raised a matter regarding pay revision of public sector employees.

(iv) Shri Jaswant Singh, Leader of the Opposition, raised a matter regarding right of Chief Ministers to voice their views and opinions with Prime Minister. Shri Shivraj Vishwanath Patil, Minister of Home Affairs, responded.
