LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring John L. Babieracki upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the Cathedral Club of Brook- lyn on February 3, 2011 WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to take note of and publicly acknowledge individuals who have distinguished themselves through their exemplary careers, accomplishments, and purposeful lives of service to their community and their profession; and WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor John L. Babieracki upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the Cathedral Club of Brooklyn at its 111th Anniversary Dinner, to be held at the Grand Ballroom of the New York Hilton Hotel, on Thursday, February 3, 2011; and WHEREAS, John L. Babieracki is JP Morgan Chase & Co.'s Managing Direc- tor for Global Design and Construction; and WHEREAS, In this capacity John Babieracki is the corporate real estate executive responsible for all design and construction projects for JP Morgan Chase & Co.'s global real estate portfolio of commercial office space, data centers and processing centers excluding the retail banks; and WHEREAS, Since joining the firm in April 2005, John Babieracki has led the implementation of the firm's state-of-art data center strategies in both North America and Europe; in addition, he has managed the bank's major renovations at 270 Park Avenue and 383 Madison Avenue in New York City as well as at Chase Tower in both Chicago and Phoenix; and WHEREAS, The 270 Park Avenue project is in its final stages of a complete fit-out including the replacement of the entire building's infrastructure while maintaining full operations; at completion, the project will be the largest private office building to achieve a LEED Platinum certification, solidifying JP Morgan Chase's commitment to the environment; and WHEREAS, John Babieracki also manages well over 2000 projects yearly within his group working closely with a vast array of architects, engi- neers, contractors, furniture vendors and other related professionals to meet the demand of the business; he has committed most of his profes- sional career to promoting diversity within the industry and expanding opportunities to growing companies; and WHEREAS, John Babieracki is a seasoned professional with almost 40 years in the construction industry holding numerous managerial positions for major national construction firms; prior to joining JP Morgan Chase, he spent 21 years at Morse Diesel/Amec while building a diverse portfo- lio of complex projects in commercial high rise office buildings, healthcare facilities, sports arenas, casinos, airport terminals and correctional facilities; and WHEREAS, He has been involved in such projects as the New York Times Headquarters in New York, Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut, the Ameri- can Airlines Arena in Miami and Terminal 4 at JFK International Airport; as Director of Operations for Morse Diesel/Amec, he specialized in solv- ing complex construction challenges both expeditiously and cost effec- tively; and WHEREAS, John L. Babieracki is active in construction industry spon- sored activities and in numerous worthy organizations and projects including Catholic Charities of Brooklyn and Queens, Boy Scouts of Amer- ica, the Upper Manhattan Mental Health Center and Capuchin Pantries; and WHEREAS, Born in Queens and currently living on Long Island, John Babieracki is a graduate of Manhattan College from which he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering; and WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife of 35 years, Emily; their children, Christopher and Jennifer; and their three wonderful grandchildren, all of whom are proud of his many achievements and to be part of his life; and WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ- ual for the benefit of others which John L. Babieracki has displayed throughout his life; and WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their profession, certainly have earned recognition and applause; now, there- fore, be it RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to honor John L. Babieracki upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the Cathedral Club of Brooklyn on February 3, 2011; and be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran- smitted to John L. Babieracki..
