Discovery College Scholarship Programme

To be considered for a scholarship, applicants must be entering Year 7 or above and display outstanding academic, sporting, or artistic ability in visual arts, drama or music. The Discovery College Scholarship Programme embodies the College’s commitment to service and the Hong Kong community. Scholarships are available from Year 7 to Year 13 for new or continuing students at the College.

Scholarship criteria is based on demonstrated and potential academic ability, artistic and creative aptitude, and a commitment to contribute to the College community and beyond through service and leadership. Applicants should choose to apply as an Academic Scholarship student, Athletic Scholarship student, Music Scholarship student, Visual Arts Scholarship student, or Performing Arts Scholarship student. Specific application requirements and details of the application and review process can be found on the Discovety College website. Candidates are advised that the process is detailed and rigorous and subject to annual review. There are four stages to the Discovery College Scholarship Programme application and review.

Siblings of scholarship students are welcome to apply for the Discovery College Scholarship Programme, however as a sibling, will not automatically gain priority admission status.

Required Documentation to be submitted with application Your child’s application will be processed ONLY when the necessary documents listed below are submitted with this application form. □ Two photos of the student showing his/her face full front □ Evidence of achievements (photocopies of results, exams, certificates etc) □ $600 cheque made payable to Discovery College for Academic Scholarship candidates only □ Portfolio of visual arts work for Visual Arts Scholarship candidates only

Additional required documents required of External Applicants: □ student’s current and prior year’s school reports □ student’s birth certificate □ student’s passport (including their visa status, if any) or Hong Kong Permanent Resident ID card □ parents’ Hong Kong Permanent Resident ID cards or passports (including their visa status, if any)

Documents to be submitted separate to application (Required for ALL applicants) □ Referee Evaluation Form from two independent individuals • one form must be from a school Principal, counselor, or teacher • one form must be from a referee not connected with the applicant’s school • referees must be able to evaluate the applicant’s ability to meet selection criteria • confidential forms to be sent directly to the College by the posted scholarship deadline
