1. 2013 Original Copy Paso Robles WC $44.80 40% , 39% , 21% - 279 cases produced, bottled August 2015 The second Bordelaise offering from Thacher. The bulk of this wine is sourced from neighbors at Brecon Estate, who acquired the old Norman Vineyard plantings, which date back to the 70’s. The blend’s Malbec contributes suppleness and roundness. The Cabernet is deceptively perfumed, herbaceous and tannic. Deep purple with crimson edges, cassis, black cherry, blueberry, pine needle, star anise, cinnamon and clove aromas. Black plum, blackcurrant, licorice flavors the tannins and bright fruit acidity. Drink now through 2025.

AND

2. 2014 Constant Variable Central Coast WC $38.40 46% , 38% , 16% Mourvédre- 325 cases produced, bottled April 2016 This wine punches at welterweight. Still powerful, it’s light on its feet, versatile and tense, throwing jabs of bright fruit: black cherry, blueberry, cherry pie, kirsch, cranberry sauce. Secondary notes are nutmeg, baking spice, mint and soy. The tannins are tight, focused and precise. Drink now through 2023.

3. 2014 Resident Alien Adelaida District WC $36 50% , 50% Petite Sirah - 125 cases produced, bottled July 2016 A deep, concentrated core of very dark fruit (black berries) is wrapped in secondary notes of black tea, Chinese 5-spice, mint, tar, violets, gunsmoke and burnt orange peel. This wine really throws its weight around, and the massive tannins, fleshy and polished, linger for ages. Drink now through 2025.

4. 2015 Solo Concert Coast View Vineyard Monterey WC $38.40 100% Syrah- 150 cases produced, bottled July 2017 This wine is all about structure, and bristles with tannin: expect it to age very well. Feral aromatics of leather, game, bacon, black tea, and spice dominate the dark fruit notes. Likewise, on the palate, the fruit plays second-fiddle to the aggressive tannins (grippy and sticky). The finish is whole-cluster stem spice, vanilla extract, black pepper and black olives. Drink now through 2025.

5. 2015 Exact Estimate Paso Robles WC $38.40 90% , 10% Mourvédre – 175 cases produced, bottled July 2017 High frequency, screaming bright aromatics: candied red fruit, maraschino cherry, hibiscus, flint, sweet spice. The palate continues in the same vein: raspberry, dried cranberry, loganberry. The whole thing is peppered with sweet spices: cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg. Gnarly acid, this thing drinks like a Zinfandel-laserbeam. Drink now through 2023.
