1. Conference Format RESEO conferences are open to all organisations and individuals, whether they are members of the network or not. They follow a pattern well known to our long-term members, but which it is always useful to describe to our newer participants: in a conference format lasting 3 days, the participants are invited to reflect upon a topic which is of importance to their work, to discover the local situation of the host organisation, to acquire know-how and training via practical workshops, to learn about and be inspired by the presentation of the work and projects done by their European colleagues, and to acquire additional knowledge via researchers’ insights.

a. Practical workshops The practical workshops proposed during our conferences are short and specific trainings. They allow participants to experience working methods and learn innovative techniques related to the conference’s theme. Participants are delivered a certificate of participation upon demand.

In Belgrade, participants will be invited to participate in up to 4 workshops linked with the theme of higher education and the arts. Sessions will be led by expert practitioners from Europe and this year we are excited to invite applications from RESEO members to lead one of the workshops. b. Case studies Concrete examples illustrating the the connection of between higher education and the arts will be presented. We would also welcome applications from RESEO members to take part in a session to highlight their work.

2. Conference venue The conference will take place at the Belgrade Dance Institute, Bulevar vojvode Mišića 43 ​ 11000 Belgrade, Serbia.

During Saturday afternoon we will be hosted by Madlenianum Opera & Theatre, Glavna 32, ​ Beograd 11080, Belgrade, Serbia

3. Accommodation We recommend staying at the Hotel City Savoy located on: Cetinjska 3, Stari Grad, 11000 Belgrade, Serbia.

RESEO has negotiated a conference fee of €74 for single/ €79 for double occupancy, to book please contact the hotel quoting RESEO conference as a reference. This discounted rate will ​ ​ be held with the hotel until 01 April 2017, so please book early to avoid disappointments!

Getting to the Hotel Savoy: A 20 minute drive from Belgrade airport Nikola Tesla. If you are ​ traveling by taxi, please advise the driver that the easiest way to reach the hotel is via wide Belgrade boulevards, Arsenija Carnojevica, Kneza Milosa and Kralja Aleksandra.

Near the hotel there are a great number of public transport options to connect to all parts of the city.

5. Getting to Belgrade

Getting to and from Belgrade Nikola Tesla (BEG), Serbia’s main international airport is generally an easy task with few options available. Distance from Belgrade airport to the city center is about 20 km. The trip takes around 30 minutes by car or 45 minutes by bus.

a. Private car transfer to or from Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport Private car transfer service to or from Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport cost approx €20 for salon car, or €30 for 8 seats mini van. If you book return transfer at the airport there is a discount for a round trip in a salon car costing approx €35.

b. Travel by Taxi: On the airport exit there is a Taxi information desk, where you can order taxi with the fixed price. From the airport to the city center the fix price is approx 1800 dinars (€16). You just have to say the address to the Taxi information desk officer, they will give you a voucher with fixed price and will be going with you right to the first available taxi driver and you are paying that amount when you get to the desired address. Charge per piece of baggage in the boot sometimes is free, sometimes is approx 100 dinars.

c. Bus service - Mini Bus A1: Near airport exit gate there is bus station for “Mini Bus A1”. Mini bus A1 operate between airport and . Bus stop also in New Belgrade (Fontana stop) and near Belgrade main train station. Tickets can be purchased in the bus and the cost is approx 300 dinars (€3).

Please note the Mini Bus A1 service operate 7 days a week from 5am till 21:30. Bus leaves airport every 60 minutes. In peak hours (8:00 am – 18 pm) A1 Mini Bus operates more frequently .

d. Belgrade Airport Shuttle Door To Door Service: Belgrade Airport Shuttle Service is a shared van that takes you to any address in central Belgrade for a fixed price of approx 1000 dinars (€8). The shuttle leaves

approximately every 45 minutes or when it fills up. Service operate 7 days a week from 7am till 22:00. You have to book this service in advance.

e. Car rentals: In exit terminal at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport you can find Car Rental Agencies. (international and local companies). You will need a credit card for a deposit, which is generally about €200-300. Car rental prices start from €20 / €30 per day with all taxes included.

6. Performances Tickets to the following performances are included in your conference fee, please confirm if you would like to attend just one or both when completing the registration form.

a. Friday 21 April 2017 Performance of ‘La serva padrona’ (Donizetti) at The National Theatre ​ ​ The National Theatre built in 1868 is nowadays home to three artistic ensembles - Opera, Drama and Ballet. It was declared a Monument of Culture of Great Importance in 1983, and it is protected by the Republic of Serbia.

b. Saturday 22 April 2017 Performance at Madlenianum Opera & Theatre Founded in 1999, Madlenianum Opera and Theatre is the first privately owned opera and theatre company both in Serbia and in south-eastern Europe.

7. Registration Please fill in the online registration form before April 10, 2017 on RESEO’s website www.reseo.org. You will be invoiced upon registration. ​
