3 EIC Award for Supply Chain Excellence 2013
The EIC Award for Supply Chain Excellence recognises an EIC member organisation that has demonstrated superiority within the energy supply chain. The award is open to all EIC member companies and recognises a new product, service, process or engineering solution that has maximised customer satisfaction.
The standard of entries for the inaugural award has been exceptionally high, a compelling indicator of the high-end expertise and innovative spirit of the UK supply chain. All the entries were examined by a high-profile judging panel made up of:

• Rod Dean, Managing Director, BCECA
• Derek Allen, Lead Technologist (Energy Generation & Supply), Technology Strategy Board
• Carole Sweeney, Director (Advanced Manufacturing), UKTI

Seven companies were shortlisted by our judging panel, which all submitted excellent engineered solutions, products and services that demonstrate superiority within the supply chain:

In the wake of the Deepwater Horizon disaster, Lloyd’s Register has developed a Blow-out Preventer (BOP) risk model in a joint industry project between Lloyd Register’s own technical BOP experts, drilling operators, BOP equipment manufacturers and US regulators.
Stork Technical Services has created a HBC system that allows hot bolting to be carried out on four bolt flanges without the need for a shutdown.
