The College of Applied Science, Vadakkencherry managed by I.H.R.D (A. Govt. of Kerala Undertaking) was established in 1993 offering U.G programs such as B.Sc Electronics and B.Sc Computer Science for the very first time in Kerala. The College is the only IHRD College recognised by the U.G.C under section 2(F) of the U.G.C act of 1956 as an aided Govt. College. The courses are being run under the semester system with the most modern syllabus, modified from time to time. The University of Calicut awards the degrees. The College of Applied Science Vadakkencherry is by the side of NH 47, 33 KMs equidistant both from Palakkad and Thrissur. The College offers 4 U.G programs and two P.G programs. The M.Sc Electronics Program offered by this College is the first of it’s kind under the University of Calicut and has one of the most advanced syllabi in the whole country. The College also became a pioneer paving the way to a new millennium by starting a “POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN AUDIO ENGINEERING” program, the very first of it’s kind in Kerala under the Govt. sector and the 4th in India.

1. Department of Electronics:

The Department of Electronics functioning with full-fledged lab facilities provides opportunities to students for conducting advanced seminars and projects that are in tune with the latest industry developments. Students of our college have won ranks for the M.Sc Electronics course consistently during the past few years.

Courses: 1. B.Sc Electronics:

Duration: 3 Years (6 Semesters). No of Seats: 36 Higher Secondary or Equivalent with Maths or Eligibility: Electronics 14,900 per Semester (Exemption for Tuition fees: S.C/S.T/OEC students as per Govt. rules)

2. M.Sc Electronics:

Duration: 2 years (4 semesters) No of Seats: 12 Eligibility: B.Sc with 50% marks in Electronics/Physics/Computer Science Tuition fees: 19,000 (Exemption for S.C/S.T/OEC students as per Govt. rules)

2. Department Of Computer Science

Courses :

1. B.Sc Computer Science

2. M.Sc Computer Science

Duration: 2 years (4 semesters) No of Seats: 12 Eligibility: B.Sc with 50% marks in Electronics/Physics/Computer Science

Tuition fees: 19,000 (Exemption for S.C/S.T/OEC students as per Govt. rules)

(*Admission to the course is through an Entrance test conducted by the University)

3. Department of Commerce

Courses:

1. B.Com Computer Application 2. B.Com Finance

Duration: 3 Years (6 Semesters) No of Seats: 40 Eligibility: Higher Secondary or Equivalent with Commerce. 11,150 per Semester (Fee exemption for S.C/S.T/OEC students Tuition fees: as per Govt. rules)

Admissions: 50% seats are filled up by the Calicut University CAP online process (http://cuonline.ac.in/ug/) and the rest 50% by the College based on a common online process set up by IHRD (http://www.ihrd.kerala.gov.in/cascap/). Admission to the above courses is based purely on merit (the marks obtained by the candidates for the qualifying examination). There are no management quota seats as in other Aided/Private institutions. The scheme and syllabi of the course is decided by the Calicut University. Total course fee includes admission fee, special fee and PTA fee. The candidates belonging to SC/ST, OEC will get the fee concession and government grant as per the Kerala government rules.

College Library:

Our college has a well-established library contains around 8000 books in all subjects for reading and reference. All students can avail this facility during their period of study.
