North Carolina FC, a men's team, competes in the United Soccer League (USL), and the NC Courage, a women's team, competes in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). Because of this position, I also had the opportunity to work with the U.S. Soccer communications team when the U.S. Men's National Team played Paraguay in Cary on March 27, 2018, and Concacaf when the Concacaf Women's Championship was hosted in Cary in October 2018.

The Durham VOICE, ​Durham, N.C. — Sports editor January 2018 -May 2018 I covered local sports for The Durham VOICE, a community newspaper produced by student journalists at UNC-Chapel Hill, N.C. Central University and high schoolers in Durham. Duties included coming up with and writing creative sports stories related to areas of Durham that are typically often overlooked by the press for socioeconomic, racial and geographic reasons.
