2020-21Game Notes 2020-21 GAME NOTES Tulsa Oilers f ECHL GAME #310 TULSA OILERS vs RAPID CITY RUSH OILERS 2020-21 Record Friday, April 9 - BOK CENTER (TULSA, OK) OVERALL: 20-21-3-1 HOME: 8-10-1-1 TULSA OILERS RAPID CITY RUSH 20-21-3-1 (44 PTS) 20-20-3-1 (44 PTS) AWAY: 12-11-2-0 Seventh Place - WEST Sixth Place - WEST HEAD COACH: ROB MURRAY (4th SEASON) HEAD COACH:Daniel Tetrault NEW FACES SIMILAR PLACES The Oilers made two trades to begin the week, acuqiring forward Michael McNicholas from the Indy Fuel in exchange for Brent Gates. Tulsa also received goal- tender Hayden Hawkey from Allen, sending the ECHL rights to defenseman Miles Liberati to the Americans. Both of the players acquired by the Oilers have played in the BOK Center in the past. Hawkey made his pro debut at the BOK Center last year with the Kansas City Mavericks, and McNicholas played all three games for the Indy Fuel when they came to town Jan. 20-23 — finishing the week with two points. WESTERN CONFERENCE McNicholas comes in with the second-best plus-minus on the team, ranks sixth in STANDINGS (WIN PCT) point getters on the campaign, and fourth in goals. His sixth power-play assists are 1. WICHITA (.670) second-best behind defenseman Garret Cockerill. 2. FORT WAYNE - (.667) SCOUTING THE RUSH 3. ALLEN - (.646) Tonight marks the first time these two teams have played at the BOK Center this 4. UTAH (.558) season, but the Oilers have traveled to Rapid City twice this season. The season 5. TULSA (.489) The Oilers, over the last five seasons, have had more success at Rushmore Plaza Civic Center than they have in Tulsa. When playing in Rapid City, the Oilers are 9-7-2-0, but the Oilers are 3-8-2-2 when hosting the Rush the past five seasons, including several overtime and 1-goal games. Rapid City is led by a high-octane top unit, sporting two of the top six point getters in the ECHL — Tyler Coulter and Peter Quenneville. For the third-consecutive week, the Oilers are playing the team directly above them in the standings.     Screening, Testing and Performance Enhancement in the Terminal Many clinicians in general outpatient orthopedic and sports rehabilitation facilities struggle with late-stage progressions as well as testing to determine physical readiness for not only return to play but also for return to performance. The average clinician is limited by space and equipment limitations that make testing and performance training a challenge. Complicating matters further are athletes that have limited visits due to financial or insurance limitations. Day one of this two-day course is focused on the screening and testing of the athlete recovering from upper or lower extremity pathology with evidence-based, clinically useful measures to determine physical readiness for not only return to play, but also return to performance and transitioning back to strength and conditioning activities. An in-depth analysis of the physical qualities of performance as well as how to best train these qualities will be discussed as well as program design considerations for the athlete. On day two, the emphasis will shift to ACL rehabilitation. The data on ACL return to sport is clear – re-tear rates are high, they return with poor strength, and the percentage of athletes who return to sport are less than ideal. Day two will highlight best practices from beginning to end of the ACL rehabilitation continuum. While doing so, we will provide extraordinary customer service and safety standards which will provide a memorable experience for all Rushmore Plaza Civic Center guests. A Message from the Director As we celebrated our forty-first year of operation our focus was on investing and preparing ourselves for the future. In June of 2018, we saw the citizens of Rapid City overwhelmingly “Vote Yes” on a $130 million expansion project for the facility. This expansion will not only provide us with a venue that has the seating capacity many events are looking for, but it will be an extremely flexible venue for all of our events. It will feature dimensions that are compatible with touring shows, tournaments, rodeos, and trade shows. The booking potential of this expansion will open up the current diminishing abilities of the Barnett Arena and secure the Civic Center’s future for the next several decades. We cannot thank Mayor Allender, the people who worked tirelessly on the campaign, and the general public for their support and engagement.
