ZYX Italo Disco History is the brand-new Italo Disco CD compilation series. In cooperation with Italo Disco legend Flemming Dalum, we are going to chronologically highlight the great era of Italo Disco sound in the 80s. Our first 2CD compilation contains hits and rarities from 1982. Already in this year artists like Den Harrow or Koto started to leave their marks. As we all know, they celebrated great hits in the following years. As a bonus, you can look forward to an exclusive megamix by Flemming Dalum containing all the tracks on the sampler. The cherry on top of all these musical highlights are Flemming Dalum‘s liner notes.
The series will be continued in autumn with an edition dedicated to the year 1983.

Golden Core is proud to have saved six albums that were previously released in 1980/1981 but have never been re- released on CD or LP. REQUIEM was a band from the Stuttgart area about whom not much is known. Their only album „Steven“ is a thrilling rollercoaster ride over waves of progressive rock, hard rock and what is now often called proto-metal. It is a style that can only be found in the short period between 1979 and 1981. It is also a missing link between 70s rock and heavy metal. Tommy Clauss was a member of his first band REQUIEM. He was still able to make a musical appearance later on.
He first worked with the band REBEL, whose singer was JOHN LAWTON (Uriah Heep, Lucifers Friend), then he founded the much more famous ZAR. So, he was able to shed some light on the band’s history for the liner notes being included in the booklet. An unplayed vinyl was overdubbed for this re-release by Order-No.: FileUnder: Rock/Metal Patrick Engel (High Roller, Metal Blade a.o.) and subsequently Release: 19.02.2021 remastered by Neudi (Manilla Road, Trance a.o.). The LP GCR 20149-2 Pricecode: M32 Packaging: Jewelcase version was mastered separately for vinyl by Vadim Kulin (ZYX 1 CD Studio).
This product will delight several target groups at once.
