On Board With Obie When CCSU senior forward Obie Nwadike (Jersey City, NJ/St. Anthony’s) led the NEC with 10.3 rebounds per game in 2005-06, he became the shortest player in league history to finish at the top of the category. Nwadike, whose listed height of 6’4” does not account for his relentlessness on the glass, was the only player in the conference to average a double-double last season - he averaged 12.3 ppg - and finished 16th nationally in rebounding. He has an outside chance of becoming just the third player in NEC history to finish with 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. Nwadike entered 2005- 06 with career totals of 818 points and 652 boards. Former CCSU teammate Ron Robinson closed out his career with 1,309 points and an NEC-record 1,022 rebounds from 2000-04, while Long Island’s Carey Scurry finished with 1,413 points and 1,013 rebounds in just three seasons from 1982-84.
