Presentation This presentation gives civilian, military, and Law Enforcement Description background on the presenter. The presenter discusses Law Enforcement and Military emotional realities of war and takes the audience through techniques to prepare the individual, their family, and their agency before, during, and after a critical incident. The PowerPoint presentation includes numerous supporting video's, reference website, and documents for attending agency personnel to use.

Speaker Bio Staff Sergeant Spraktes (SSG) served for 10 years in the US Navy Reserve with Special Boat Teams (SBT). He held the rate of Gunners Mate Guns Second Class (GMG 2), completed the US Navy elite Special Warfare Combatant‐Craft (SWCC.) In 2002 he deployed Central/South America. He then enlisted in the California Army National Guard in 2004, and in 2007 to served as a ground medic in Balad, Iraq. In 2008 he was activated and deployed to Jalalabad, Afghanistan as lead Flight Medic with Charlie Company, 1‐168th GSAB. During his tour in Afghanistan he evacuated/treated 184 patients, flew 250 combat flight hours, and participated in 12 individual hoists. SSG Spraktes is the recipient of the Air Medal (AM), AM with "V" device for valor, Army Commendation Medal (ARCOM), ARCOM with "V" device for valor, Combat Medic Badge and Silver Star for gallantry in action. In 2011, Sergeant Spraktes honorably service retired after 25 years of law enforcement, which included service in the California Department of Corrections, The California State , Vacaville Police Department, and the California Highway Patrol (CHP). He is currently a National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT‐P), State licensed paramedic.
